Jealous, for sure.
It all depends on the setup. There's some marginal ones where I do better than most, but these early / late season storms seem to kill me.
... same with the fire hoses that crush the coastal pain but leave me with a crusting of snizzle. Those are the worst!
Gotta rationalize it though and use it to my advantage. Gotta get to the gutters today. Still have lingering oaks but there's no better time.

Yup. Nada, zip, zilch.Yeah, I texted my coworkers and they said nada back home in Greenfield and Deerfield.
Light coating on the cars here in Chelmsford. Just starting to stick a bit on the grass.

Closing day today at my home course. The annual veterans day tourney has evolved into a true greenskeeper's revenge. Holes cut at a 45 degree angle, worst possible pin placements, etc...
Here's the 11th hole, on a practice green.

I forget the date, but I remember watching a pats game where there were huge parachutes at Gillette but a weak drizzle here. Almost threw my remote through the tv...Accumulating snow for SE MA while Kevin gets rain in CT?

... I'm cheap.
That's why I work 1 day/ week bumping chairs, and it gets me a pass for myself and my family. Oh, and I get paid minimum wage to do it. Lol.

Yup. I played a quick 9 holes this morning, only had to bust out the umbrella for about 10 minutes.Been lucky here today. Only a few showers since 7 AM. I was expecting a full misery day.
52° overcast. Light wind.

Funny how I find my game peaks in early June. Struggling.

I think we need to start talking seriously about a golf gtg. What days work best for most people, and what course do we want to play?
Do we want something pristine and tough and pricey like crump, or something reasonable but lnsane like the Shattuck, or a long, cheap course like Westover?

Power flickers here at work. Rotation west of her scared me but cells merged, would have passed to my north of the restaurant.

14, lol.How many shots does he get in your league? If a 14 played a 4 in our league he would just get one shot on the par 4 and 5's with none on the par 3's.
It's a pretty informal group, the guy running it keeps track of handicaps, they're hardly official.
So this guy gets 2 strokes on the majority of the holes. There's no way to compete! He gets a birdie on a par 3 and is a net 0 with 2 strokes... I get a birdie too, but he gets the skin.

Fricken unreal. I'm done with my Thursday league.
It's mostly old guys with high handicaps. Today I played 9 holes, finished gross -1. Best round of the season so far... some asswipe with a 14 handicap (for 9 holes lol) comes in and beats me. I would have had to shoot -3 to win it.
At least I won both closest to the pins (6' and 7'), but still.... screw that.

I'm down for a golf gtg... just need some notice.
Played a quick 9 this morning, didn't have time to take any swings prior to the first tee. Double, bogey, then settled down.
Broke 40 for the first time this year, which was nice.

I like crump a lot, it's my closest course but due to the cost not my "home" course. Try to play it a few times a year. My son works there, and when we go out, he's free and I'm $25. Definitely a great deal.We could do Crumpin Fox too if that is better for more folk. I don’t mind the drive to play a good course.Open to other ideas...

Serious?0.0” not even a mangled cat paw here.
I haven't left my house, but I've woken up to probably 1.5" and it's snowing.

Regrip them yourself. It's easy! No, I’m not. I’ve had the same clubs for maybe 10 years but had them regripped. One day I’ll get custom fitted. I just watch pointers/lessons on youtube and work on them in the mirror or in the garage over the winter so when the season begins I’m focused on them...but as the season rolls along I get away from it and tweak too much. Simplyfing the game works better for me but I get too technical the more I play.

A few years ago when my kids were younger I introduced them to the thin cover, choose your line aspect of spring skiing. They loved it.
Here's one of their Instagram posts from several years ago from flying cloud at Berkshire east

I find that my game typically peaks in June. ...by August, sometimes I feel like I forgot how to play.

Played my first 9 yesterday. Missed a 5 footer for a birdie on the first hole. Got a triple on the last. Lol.
Made good contact and was able to work the ball surprisingly well considering i haven't swung a club since early November.

Got this email yesterday...
Hello All,
Berkshire East will be closed tomorrow, Thursday April 1, and unless we experience an Easter miracle equivalent to a rabbit laying colored eggs, it looks like this will be it for the season. We held out hope of cold weather and snow shifting 70 miles east and bringing a foot of snow, though no forecasts are calling this. We stock piled a bunch of snow to get as far into the spring season as we could and I would not have guessed we'd get wiped out this fast, but I don't foresee us withstanding another inch of rain tomorrow.

No, it was hard fast groomed. It happened on upper exhibition, a trail that was roped off and closed. There were a few features on it along with a few piles of snow that were tracked up and pushed around. I'm sure you know how it is, there's a population of skiers and riders that will flock to hit any rails or bonks and do anything to tag them, including ducking a rope.Yikes. Are conditions that icy?
The trail looked like it hadn't been groomed in a few days, it was shiny, rock solid glacier. Well... except for the single stripe of newly minted groom in a failed attempt to cover up what looked like a bloodbath.

There was a bad one this morning. ... they had to bring out the cat to cover the blood. Know nothing about it other than the view from the exhibition lift was gruesome.

Slush fest today. Not sure any amount of wax would help.Berkshire East was pretty sweet yesterday. Natural is still holding on pretty good in places. Likely after today there will not be much left. I just went out for lunch and it feels hot with the increasing dews!

November 28-29 Storm Threat

I for one am aware of my climo, but I'm also aware of everyone else's too. I'm actually kinda pissed that EVERYONE around me has seen snow. I've seen about 10 flakes so far. .. like I said, not abnormal for me. But it's abnormal for my location at 600' and 5 miles from the VT border to be last.
