  1. I could understand if it never freezes solid, but does it at least develop a layer of ice on top in the winter? Mixing would certainly delay the freezing process, but I couldn't imagine not getting some surface ice at those temperatures!

I already told you that it may be a dam but it is funny because I just read a news release today about why water doesn't need to freeze until -55F: My link....

There is a small dam on this lake, and I just wonder if it does not explain why it never freezes. Just a guess !

It may be our first cold wave of the winter, EC, GFS and ECMWF should agree on its arrival, looking now for its strength... -20C for sure, -30C????

Starting tomorrow, we should also get some snow, it will be a pleasure while snow on ground is very poor (between 0 and 3 cm).

This morning, we have temperatures ranging from -11 and -30, now -13.6C in Hidden Valley, around -15C before sunset.

    Have a great day !

  9. Hey guys realatively new to the forum, and hope this is the correct area to ask this question. I am from North Carolina but am looking to make it out to BC for some storm watching, out of the winter months, what in you guys opinion is the best month for that? I've noticed November has the highest rainfall totals typically. Thanks!

I do not know anything about the BC climate :(.... living north to 60s....

Today we got some snow during the night and then a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 5.1C and wind blowing from south.

Upcoming days should be cooler and dry.
