One of those days I feel for the my holly crew. They are going to be burning the midnight oil.
Cheers to them! -
Thanks! What that basically does is get into the weeds about how "mother nature" "must come into equilibrium" and shows the mechanisms (and equations) to explain how that happens with "weather". Adjacent high pressure and low pressure will "move" to try to equalize and come to some sort of "steady state". Same goes for differing temperatures and humidity. I kind of compare that (as the "macro" application) with what goes on with the ideal gas law too - PV=nRT.
Credit to follow Anthony and his group of contributors. Sure thing get into the weeds but its nice when something clicks every now and then….
Ok, time to rest the brain.

Now for the toughest question of the week regarding the potential storm. Should I tune the 3 stage thrower or leave it in the barn? It is a tough call.
35F and no frost on the car

Winter in the poconos. Snow on snow. Hoping for 2-3. Should be great first tracks in the AM.

So after cruising around, clearing the driveway the 2100ft elevations certainly received 8-12. I would say BB mountain area 8-10 and further north to JF it looked like 10-12.
The plow guy I used basically said the same. Said some areas got into the ice/rain mix then more snow. Other areas hung in there with all snow

Good morning. Still snowing. I think it turned for a bit after midnight but hard to say without going outside. Drifting…..plows did come through at least one pass. They try to keep access to the top open.
The porch drift is an easy 3ft. Mmmm coffee time.

Made it to the pocono cabin. Puking snow here. Winds cranking too. Powder blowing everywhere. No clue on totals we are on the mountain top and edge, so it looks like a snow machine in the spot lights.

Plows just came through…..travel in this area should be no problem after the roads are plowed. Looks to be a heavy snow and it clears to a clean road.

Wow looks like an over performer. Should be closer to 8-10 when done.

My sister lives on LBI. Said it was a blizzard like storm. No word on totals from her but the pics showed plowed roads and drifts.

Schools closed due to severe wx…….
SoE in effect….
Perhaps the rapid temp drop justifies it all?
I guess we can hype Thursday night or should we wait a few hours?

I observe no snow as of yet.

While I am not at the cabin it does appear, based on my cams, there might have been about 1.5-2” in the Poconos. I did see the plow guy clear the mountain top road and that is usually a sign of about 2”. Looks like a winter wonderland and I cant wait to get there.
Cheers to everyone and have a safe HEALTHY and HAPPY holiday season!!
Edit: Just saw spotter near by had 2.8.

Well that was fun. A Shore Show Snow. Made for some nice pictures in the front holiday lights. It actually was coming down quite nicely for a while. I guess as a counter we should take pics in our shorts on Saturday?

he's safe. got to a hotel with Reed and some other chasers
Good news. Always smart to be around others, plus with todays Comms it makes EVERYTHING a lot easier.

I was watching a two chasers live and the lead vehicle seemed fine but the second got stuck in water, could not start and ultimately shut down its live feed. Last name of the dude started with a C and was something like Copic or Copec?? It all happen while I was surfing around for live feeds.....
Just checked my history. Brandon Copic

All radar apps use NWS doppler radar
My Radar is nice, however, has a delay of 10-15m. I believe weather underground app/site provides current radar for no fee. Wundermap is the name??
