A few flurries are making it to the ground in Eden.

The temp at my home hasn’t moved from 51 all day but I see online temps for here are 48.

Actually just up from Boone at 3500-4000 it was snowing and starting to stick to grass and roads around 6:30
Edit to add it’s hard to see on camera if it’s still snow but the asphalt is covered.

Radar shows snow nearby so I’m waiting patiently…
I’m also not expecting to see snow…- 1

Was there a rocket launch off the east coast in the last few minutes? I didn’t get to see it but was told there was a contrail and a bright light on the horizon facing in a SW direction.
I thought it was from wallops island but it looks like what was seen here wasn’t it bc wallops island was eastern nc/seaboard.

It’s raining again and I don’t think it got above 39 here today.
-
Well it happened again overnight last night and the current storms have missed Eden so far. We need rain.
-
Tullioz, Did you ever get any rain? Like you, I was under warnings for awhile and had dark clouds and lightning, but absolutely no rain. It’s crazy to watch radar to see storms heading this way from mainly the N/NW and they split just north of Eden and then regroup south of Eden.

Took kids and pets to the basement but didn’t experience much here thankfully. I’m very worried about the Wentworth area.

I tried to begin the May observation thread and obviously I’m not that smart…
We are currently experiencing the second hail storm in the last 10 minutes.

I’ll be checking all night. Haven’t been up in 3 months so if anything falls it’s a win/last gasp. I’ll take it.
I looked at radar and didn’t see anything upstream for flow snow.

Here for the weekend in Boone at 4k off poplar grove/Russ Cornett and I was going to say nothing here but I went to check the floods and there’s a stray flake (that’s being generous) so it’s a win.
-
Cold, cloudy, rainy, foggy and in the upper 40’s here.

I'm right at 700ft above sea level compared to 500ft along the river, so maybe the extra elevation helps at my location. Starting to see some slushy accumulation in the grass and on top of elevated surfaces now. Temp has dropped to 32.3.
Yes my location shows 541 ft.
-
All snow now but it’s very light.

Well I went out on the back porch and the rain looks suspicious..
Looks like flakes are mixing in but still mostly rain. It started sprinkling here around 4:30 or so and temp then was mid 40’s. Went through a period of no precip and temps slowly dropped.

All snow at my location just NW of Eden.
33.6/33.4
Lol nothing here but rain next to the Dan off of 14 as you come into Eden from the south. My unscientific thermometer says 37.
-
“Flurries” would be generous but it’s snowing in Eden off of 14 next to the Dan
-
Took a few measurements around the yard and got 9” at each spot.

Just checked the cameras and it’s snowing off of Russ Cornett/Poplar Grove outside of Boone. Hate I’m missing it.
After I thought about it, I checked temps and it’s not cold enough so never mind. I just assumed the precip was snow.
