Clearly the NAMs are still adjusting, why anyone would take todays 12z and get butthurt or panic is beyond me. Hope it all works out for everyone in some form
People panic when qpf is 0.05 difference or 7" of snow instead of 8" or a Wetbulb/blanket storm over before it begins

Mr. Bulb
Guy who is up in attic smoking a pack of cigarettes looking at his little window waiting impatiently for the storm to fail before it starts?

The off runs are brutal
Still over 1” of QPF for us and mostly frozen if not all

100 miles? Pffft. That's less than 1 NAM run away to correct. 1000 miles is a red flag tho
12z was about 250 miles so definitely trending in right direction.

The cold push is just light years better on the GFS. 540 line is 50 miles south of the NAM at 60.
GFS starts as snow down to RIC this run.
Beatdown for all.
So far 12z Globals are holding and sounds like GFS continues to trend even better for us

It’s early but I can already tell the NAM is going to be way NW of all the globals. Way more amped up and it’s directing the lead wave of energy to our NW
Concerning it is, but will pull the "NAM not in its wheelhouse yet" card

I kept pointing that out but everyone told me it was going to be a “non-event”. Looked like a clear high impact event in dc to me at least.
My apologies as I questioned the event. Huge over performer in my book. Good calL by you.

Seeing everyone say how either they are getting ice or just no ice accretion is weird because for me at least there has been almost no ice on the trees. There is also no glaze of ice except on the deck but the roads are sleet covered and so is the yard. Seems at least for me to be more of a sleet storm.
I am in Herndon and My bushes and pine trees have lot of ice accretion. Really starting to build up. Beautiful to see but worried there could be some damage later

I’m getting what looks like snow and sleet...but I know it’s not snow
Agree...I think it is light freezing rain

Here near Reston some pixie dust snowflakes mixing in with heavy sleet.
I noticed the pixie something about 10 minutes ago and was not sure if it was pixie snow, pixie sleet or pixie freezing rain!

started as freezing rain and flipped to sleet. Not one snow flake.
