I saw yesterday you are off Lucabaugh right? Good to see we have another member of the Westminster/Carroll crew here in the forum. Looking for my first good snow since moving up here 2 years ago.

Yep. I have not used my snowblower in 2 yeas. Lived in Westminster for about 15 years and have had some really good winters.

I think the dismissals of the high last night are looking incorrect. DC built rapidly and steadily overnight and is continuing. 1028 here  right now on a high that is forecasted to be 1032-1036 1000 miles to our north is an excellent  showing down here at this time

Agreed. Temps were forecasted to be 3-4 degrees higher in Westminster at this time. Holding at 33 with STRONG sun.

yeah..It looks like there will be some consolidation and pretty good returns late afternoon to mid evening...Not sure anyone can hold on to snow until then, but I'm sure there will be areas to the NW that will still be below freezing

Still holding steady at 27 with winds fluctuating from NE and ESE. Hopefully I can get some more frozen up here.

One of the last vis shots of the day shows an area of clearing/thin high clouds moving east across NMD.  May be enough to get a little rad cooling as the sun goes down.  Every little bit counts to stay frozen as long as pos.

Yep see some blue sky out here.

NONE of the models are catching on to how juiced the radar is and how far east the moisture has made it already. Mount Holly mentioned this in their discussion and I posted it earlier. Radar looks very good right now. Definitely something to keep watching in terms of snow intensity and arrival time of moisture.

Agreed. Just reviewed the 18Z HRRR and NAM3K and in both cases the precip shield is probably about 40-50 miles farther north than modeled.
