Just dropped Comcast in favor of a small NY company thats been blanketing West Hartford with fiber......I get 150 up and down for $50/month....and its tested very very consistently since day 1......I've had it about 2 weeks or so....love it

My model reading is pedestrian at best but for years I’ve been just using good old NCEP to get my GFS fix...... that piece of trash is so bad now I haven’t been on there in weeks.... just read you guys now.... so disappointing

Thing is the area where the power was out the longest was not that big though......Hartford west into the Farmington Valley - West Hartford, Farmington, Avon, Simsbury took it hard but it wasn't all that difficult to find the supplies you needed by driving 20 minutes south.....I filled up our gas tanks for the genny when I would go to work in Cheshire, for example, for those 10 days when the gas stations at home were either without power or out of gas......if the whole state was impacted like that IDK man.....it would be worse.....

Welp today was the great 2019 summer - wait winter total solar eclipse - down in South America....images looked great....very much reminded me of 2017....loved chasing that in Missouri....a great life memory...next total solar eclipse is again in South America 12-14-20.....countdown to the great North American eclipse in 2024 is on

No question....would be awful....but going to Chile and it being overcast would suck too....seems it could be difficult to divert down there.....also not sure about infrastructure necessary to even monitor that type of thing....I mean in Nebraska and Missouri I could look at visible sat and radar in seconds....and decide very quickly where to go....

I mean if you compared the cost to get to Chile and accommodations and transport - maybe pay to be in a tour group - and then add two weeks and turn it into a vacation.....it's probably a wash....give or take
