Honestly, I see that as a good thing. Remember and you know, the big storms always bring the warm nose and mix, Blizzard of 96 had a big sleet session and I still got 30+. IMO based of of my 35 years of snow storms, prime time temps are 25-28 degrees! The old saying, cold and dry, warm and wet!

The Weather Channel is going all in with 12-18 for North NJ/ NYC and a long duration event.

Nemo was 2015 if I recall. NJ was forecast 18-24 and only the NAM that no one believed had it pegged going wide right hitting Eastern LI with the big snow.

That depends on the winds. Someone mentioned yesterday this has Blizzard of 96 looks. That was the only storm I can remember that it snowed heavy with cold temps. And regardless of ground temp, there's always some taint mid way through on these big boys!

I'm just curious... When y'all measure your snow.... How do you differentiate between .8" and .75 or just 1.0 for that matter? What are we using to measure snowflakes with such precision?

2015 and 2016 we had some doozys. If I recall, 2015 I was forecast 18-24 and it went east a dumped on Suffolk and the NAM had that pinned by itself. 2016 we got it in NJ. I got 26-27 inches. It's been a dud after that for the most part...

It took me a minute to think of him.. Mullen, always had a one liner and he bailed to Florida years ago . I hope he's still alive. He was the best! His one liners were classics

Your still a greenhorn... Lmao some of us go back 20 years+ to the EasternWX days. We would have a select few members that would call a Play by Play/PBP as the models were running when we had a storm inbound. Boxing day was pretty wild. Tombo calling it and Earthlight.. I didn't sleep for a week and still had to go plow when it hit .. In recent years another weather board popped up that many have flocked to, I was banned from it... Lol PDII in 2003 was another doozy of no sleep for days watching models and the board. After many many years, and it takes time, I don't get all worked up and stay awake for the 1am euro... Lol those days are long gone. I wake up and can tell what happened by many more pages of posts there are in the morning. Not many posts equal a dud, lots of pages and we got a banger!

Some areas aren't as bad of a bust as others. I think Mt. hollys final for my area was 4-7. Aaaaaaand I got a .25" of sleet so yea some parts it busted and busted pretty bad.
