BGR is snowier than both ORH and Troy. ORH is probably slightly snowier than Troy on average, but maybe something like 68-70" versus 62-64"....BGR is probably more like 77-78" avg so once you are comparing it to Troy, it's prob a good 20-25% more snow on average. It also depends where you are talking about too....BGR airport are my numbers, but if you are talking a town or two southeast of BGR like right on the water, the numbers are definitely going to be lower.

BGR is going to have the superior snow depth a lot of the time on both stations simply because they are colder and average more snow....though with ORH it is closer than with Troy. BGR will average around 95 days per years with snow depth >= 1"....ORH is closer to 75ish. Troy is more like 60. So if you hate bare ground, you definitely want to eliminate Troy out of the 3. The numbers don't change for large snow pack...for days exceeding 12" of snow pack, ORH averages around 18 per winter....while Troy/ALB average around 6. BGR averages around 25.

I would take it that Glens Falls would top both ORH and Troy in that department ? For sure they would top Chicopee Falls :D

It's on the list but it shows the expected signal strength at over -21dB and the path is Tropo.  That means conditions would have to be perfect and you'd need some special equipment and even then it might only come in for a little while and not strong enough to be watchable.  I think it lists any signal that reaches your destination.

You need about a -10dB signal at your tuner to be usable.  An antenna will have gain which is why you can pick up a signal that has a strength around 0dB.  Like I mentioned, you can also get signals around -17dB with an amplified antenna because it will boost the antenna's gain making it around 8-10dB at the tuner and usable.

Thanks for the advice on it. I may be going down that road myself in a bit. It probably will depend on what the streaming option's are and their cost in the near future.

I'm big on sports and i don't remember which of the two it was but would not be able to get some of the channels i watch if i remember correctly, Should be able to eliminate a couple of the cable boxes by downloading the spectrum app and going Roku tv or the stick as well, I want to add another tv to a different part of the house and now will be able to stream to it without running cables.

The only reason I stay with DIRECTV is NFL Sunday Ticket and that was with the caveat of a healthy price discount on it. Since AT&T took over said discount is being greatly reduced or simply eliminated. I’ll make my yearly call to their retention Dept next week and see what happens. If unsatisfactory I will be out the door in January.
