There must have been 30 TORE's issued today.
Usually 5-12 a year.
List of all tornado emergencies issued- today is still incomplete

For people saying there were no sirens in places like Birmingham, you could clearly hear the sirens on TWC when Jeff Morrow was there.
Must depend on location. ABC 33/40 said Tuscaloosa sirens were down also from previous outbreaks Birmingham videos have the sirens sounding continuously, but in today's videos there are no sirens playing off in from each photographers vantage point. With a tornado that large hitting as many connectors, transformers and power lines many siren systems were probably knocked out miles in advance of the tornado. Also, coupled with all the storms and power outages from this mornings storms... sirens may have failed many today.
Also, not just sirens but probably the EAS or even ability to reach local media warnings too with loss of power. Also noticing a lot of videos on Youtube the authors didn't even know they were looking at a tornado with the massive wedge because it was so big.

So far in all the Youtube's I've looked at of the Tuscaloosa & Birmingham tornadoes I haven't heard a single tornado siren
-
ABC 33/40 initially said "total destruction" at the hospital

FWIW three tornadoes have touched down in my area this afternoon- no tornado warnings were issued and I have no other info.

WHNT just said Arab AL is requesting ALL ambulances immediately
EDIT: They just said a mobile home park was destroyed in Arab with multiple major injuries

Wow, the warning on that Cullman storm reads "Tornado Emergency For:" instead of "Tornado Warning for:"
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A * TORNADO EMERGENCY FOR... NORTHEASTERN CULLMAN COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA... SOUTH CENTRAL MADISON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA... SOUTHEASTERN MORGAN COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA... WEST CENTRAL MARSHALL COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ALABAMA... * UNTIL 345 PM CDT

For the short time I have been using the SREF, I have never seen STI this high for so long.
From tomorrow morning until Wednesday, there is a "50" for the exception of one frame.
Check this out:
Once again that pocket of 5% is back over my regional municipality

It's a nice severe sounding, but all crosswise vorticity suggests little tornado threat. I would be mainly worried about wind and some hail.
Great thanks it's for my location

Anything of particular note about this sounding for 21z Tuesday?
