  1. Heat index here maxed at 106 in late June. 101 here yesterday.
  2. I had a legit heatwave in June. Won’t even crack 90 here for one day. His results may differ
  3. I was out there for hours yesterday. June was hotter. No cap
  4. Maxed at 89 yesterday. June heat > August heat. Still nice for the pool though
  5. Portland Jetport had a record high dew today. 78F. Hard to dew
  6. We came back Tuesday evening. We were there for 6 nights
  7. Some nice 10-12% imperials out there
  8. There are thermal rivers too... didn't see any of those or any of the small, semi secret bathing pools, but there are a bunch that locals go to. It's a big part of the culture there. Almost no one has their own swimming pool but pretty much every town has a big, geothermally heated public pool with slides etc. I thought that was funny. Regarding swimming in the ocean, numerous signs for "sneaker waves" that drag people out now and then. Different than rip tides I guess.
  9. Missed the second question. Lots of natural hot springs. Some have been turned into pools. The big one called Blue Lagoon is actually man made Parts of the country have pockets of thermal activity right near the surface so lots of steam vents. We also went to a geyser (at a spot called Geysir which is where the name comes from. ).
  10. Based on this site https://www.seatemperatu.re/europe/iceland/vestmannaeyjar-vestmann-island/ it is around 56F right now. Depends on a bunch of factors.
  11. Not really sure. We kayaked in the glacial lagoon and the guide said it was around 5C there (it feeds into the ocean, so at low tide water flows out from the lagoon. At high tide it flows in a little. At the beaches we went to we didn't walk in the water.
  12. That’s at the Westman islands (Vestmannaeyjar)). We almost went there. Would have been about $100 to put the car on the ferry and go there. I was cheap plus the time was an issue. Then to see that formation you needed to take a rib boat tour. That was where the volcano in the 1970s threatened a town and they stopped it. Cool museum there plus lots of puffins.
  13. Jeez please stop with this crap.
  14. Why would anyone be surprised that there is hot weather in August? It being an AN month wasn’t questioned.
  15. Only 87 for a high here yesterday, so no heat wave. But a couple of days near 90 today and tomorrow will be great
  16. The backside of water Seldjalandfoss
  17. Lol. Either my wife or daughter took that pic. I climbed with them up the rickety stair/trail to the top. Went to step out onto the platform where they took the pic. It was made of iron/steel grating so you could see through it. My head started to spin so I had to back away. Funny thing about my fear of heights. I was fine on the much higher cliffs at the ocean or on a chairlift or in a tall skyscraper. But this was only around 200 feet and my brain started to say “nope”.
