    * WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures of 24 to 28 in rural areas, and
    28-32 in urban locations expected.

    Pennsylvania.

    Rain and snow showers before midnight, then a chance of snow showers between midnight and 2am. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 22. Southwest wind 14 to 18 mph becoming northwest in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.:shiver:

    Still snowing in the Poconos - lots of 8-10" reports coming in out of NE PA. Good 'ole Starrucca PA was reporting 9.5" at 3pm. Have to believe a few high spots are at or will eclipse a foot. 

     

    Edit: One of the heaviest bands of snow in the NE is actually rotating into NE PA/Poconos right now, so there will be double digit totals. 

    Have been under that band since 3PM. Sitting at about 7" and the heaviest snow of the storm occurring now. Forecast was for 6-10" so that is going be right on.

  4.  Be careful interpreting
    graphics, etc. in areas with rapid elevation changes. For
    example, Lackawanna County is being kept in the Winter Storm
    Warning mainly due to the higher terrain surrounding Scranton.
    Higher elevations will see 5-8 inches, while Scranton itself may
    struggle to get 3-5. Similar situation for the Tri-Cities, with
    the valley seeing 4-6 inches, and the hills 7-9 inches.
