  1. Going to be interesting with interaction and a merger probable between the two TOR warned cells southwest of STL. I'm much more concerned for areas roughly from Edwardsville, to Valley Park, to Pacific, and points east of there, including downtown and the Metro East (Scott AFB).

Man hopefully it avoids Smithville, don’t need to relive that horror. Terrible situation unfolding, maybe it just barely went north of Amory? Looking at google maps it looks less developed on the north side of town.

Unfortunately, Smithville's misfortunes look to be had again any moment.

I'm not sure I understand EWX's justifications for reluctantly including Travis County in the WS Watch, that the higher elevations in the W. part of the county might be cold enough for freezing rain.  The new AUS airport at Bergstrom gets colder than the old Mueller site does, because cold air drains to the lower elevations.

The ASOS moved a few years ago at a lower part of the AUS property and the office in New Braunfels has mentioned that with all the record lows seen lately at Bergstrom versus Mabry.

Part of it is also the county is a singular zone versus say some in Florida put as "inland" versus "coastal."

Definitely a very bad situation for Selma. I wouldn’t use “catastrophic” to describe that damage though. Appears to be EF2/EF3 as there’s a lack of completely destroyed and slabbed buildings. A lot of interior/exterior walls still standing. For that reason I highly doubt it gets higher than a weak EF3 when survey teams assess the damage. Very fortunate this thing didn’t hit in April with a more amplified jet and rich gulf moisture.

Problem is in Selma is that you can see a lot of subpar, older, and/or poor construction and a good majority of homes will probably be totaled.
