Blizzard of 2026 Storm Thread/OBS

Gradient for this storm will certainly be one to remember. I'd imagine the NE Philly suburbs seeing almost twice as much powder vs. the SW suburbs is something that doesn't happen very often. -

Just went out and shoveled a bit of the front walkway to test how easy it'll be. Snow is relatively powdery -- there's a lot of it -- but definitely preferred over a thick ice cake that you have to break through. -

Morning ladies and gents. Around 11.0-11.5" here in Glen Mills. Lost power briefly twice last night. -

Ah, thank you! Didn't even look at my gauge, just estimated from the amount that's piled up on the railing of the porch. -

At least 6" here in Glen Mills. Looks like a decent band may be coming through. -

Yeah I just walked outside drop something off in the mailbox. Almost wiped out because of that wet slick layer under the new powdery stuff. That's enough outdoors for me today lol. -

Oy, that's gonna be fun to shovel. Though I'll take over snow cake with a nice two-inch layer of sleet icing on top. -

Already about an inch here in extreme SEPA, snow dumping right now. At this point expecting a minimum eight, but wouldn't be shocked if we crest a foot at this rate. -

Still no changeover, but wind really started kicking up here. -

That's where I'm at. Much better than 40 degrees and pouring cold chilling winter rain. -

I was about to say but didn't bc I'm new here. Just kinda annoying having to scroll through that garbled mess on mobile every time it's quoted (though it's totally not RNT's fault!) Holding steady here in SEPA at around 35* with light mist. -

Morning folks. Gray and misty here in SEPA, just about ten minutes north of Wilmington. Temp hovering around 33-34*. Careful out there today, all! -

Even if it is the (Mt. Holly) 10% probabilistic map, seeing totals near the big 3-0 around the Philly area is pretty staggering. -

Wouldn't surprise me if some areas west of the Delaware experience blizzard/near-blizzard conditions just based on how tough it's been to nail down the specifics of this storm. Get ready folks, this is gonna be a wild one (oh and of course, be safe). -

Wooosh, that mb on the NAM. If this was during spring or late summer/early Fall, I'd be grabbing my spotting scope and heading on down to the Delaware to see if any seabirds get blown in off the ocean. Good stuff. -
Dunno if anybody here is a birder, but there's a rare bird called a Yellow-headed Caracara near Milford in central DE -- lonngggg way from its central American home. First found near Wilmington a couple of months ago, it disappeared for a while before being rediscovered in Milford just before the January snow and cold. Being a tropical species, I know there were concerns if it would survive through that system (which it did - seems to be well-fed circulating around the farms in the area). It'll be interesting to see how it does with this one.

Howdy, all. Long-time lurker, first time poster. Anticipating anything from 6-12 here, just north of the DE border, but def preparing for more. Pleasure to be with you all for the spills, thrills, and everything in between!
