  1. Nah I’m with you and also in Charlotte. We need a break, so we thaw enough to make it out on the road again. Two storms back to back along with a possible third, and that’s the definition of too much of a good thing. I wouldn’t mind to be in the screw zone this time like we usually are.
  2. Finally got a good Snow storm after last year’s heartbreak in CLT. I guess if it ever snows in November here it means you’re gonna get 11 inches storm in Jan or February. I can’t wait for the next big dog snow storm in 15 years.
  3. After how much Snow I got from this storm, and having to deal with the Ice storm exactly one week ago from today. I think I’m good on winter storms for the rest of the year. They’re only fun for me if you have deal with a good one once per year.
  4. East CLT at my location at the deepest part.
  5. Deepest place at my place in CLT at the moment.
  6. Oof that sucks. I was in the Midlands of SC and we got hammered down there and it was a complete surprise. I’m in the CLT area now, and I’m reading that they got even more. It’s always the first one that comes to mind when I think of the big dogs.
  7. According to the models how is this storm stacking up to the Carolina Crusher from 2000? Is it safe to say this one will be extremely similar?
  8. The times I’ve seen the models correctly predict the exact amount of snow, ice, sleet I’m going to get is almost nill. They can guess the general area of the screw zone sometimes, but I’ve never seen them get it exactly right.
  9. When you see the models give you big numbers you gotta keep your expectations in check, and not get to greedy knowing where you live otherwise the actual amount you do get will seem underwelming. Keeping my expectations around the 2 to 4 inch range, and I’ll be happy to get that since I haven’t seen more than 2 inches in years.
  10. The models have been showing us getting a decent amount of snow in CLT consistently this week, which means we’re likely gonna find a way to screw it up when the actual event gets started based on past experience lol. I’ll be happy if we do get some of the totals they’re calling for though.
  11. Gonna wait till the next storm is less then 24 hours away, and its still calling for snow before I even begin to get excited for this next one. The fun wish casting part was pretty much over for my area by last Wed. for the current one.
  12. We lucked out in CLT and it was mostly sleet and a little freezing rain at the end. Managed to keep my power throughout the whole thing and its melting now. I’m pretty thankful it was only that.
  13. This would actually be my third. The models said the storm last Sunday would give me snow and I didn’t get anything, but cold rain at 39 degrees.
  14. Watching the models call for two different systems with measurable snow in the same week only to get nothing. After watching everyone around me hit the jackpot last year, but me. Never gonna score
  15. If it keeps going anymore north for the next few runs then it’ll be nothing, but cold rain here. I’ve given up on seeing any snow, and am just rooting to avoid the icy mix slop.
  16. I had an inch and half of ice back in 2003 when I lived in the Midlands of SC that went on for like 2 days, and the 2nd day we lost power. I don’t ever wanna see that much ice again in my lifetime. I’ll take some cold rain over that.
  17. Went from seeing 20 inches of snow to nothing and praying I don’t get crushed by ICE in less than 24 hours. Always assume that if you’re just barely in the snow line 4 days out that its about to shift north a good 800 miles if you’re in southern NC. Funny enough we managed to get snow here in November without mixing issues, but when it comes time for January, and actual winter to come by we can’t get squat. Go figure.
  18. That’s fine with me I do not enjoy Ice at all. It either needs to be all Snow or cold rain if it’s down to preference. Having a big ice storm just means you’re gonna be stuck at home with no power, and nothing to do for several hours if not longer like I was during the 2003 ICE storm for the SC Midlands. Last Sunday was a disappointment, but it caused me no issues.
  19. Back in the 2010s when I lived in the Midlands of SC I was stuck on the mix line between freezing rain and snow and got nothing, but sleet a solid 1 or 2 inches worth of it. It really sucked, but I’d rather have that again than have to deal with freezing rain or ice. I’ve moved further north since, but it seems I can’t ever avoid being stuck on that line between snow and freezing rain lol.
  20. Anytime we’re on the snow/ice line’s edge 3 to 4 days out. You just know that snow line is about to shift 800 miles north into the next state as we get closer.
