Why does the GFS keep teasing us with day 14+ snow? It’s been at this for weeks!

The GFS has developed self-awareness and is messing with us.

That heavy rain came together on top of me. Still raining hard! 1.64 inches so far!! That line looks so intense!

We lost power when that high intensity line passed overhead. That radar image is quite unusual.

I plan to use one later if I have to water.

It is amazing how much the N95 really helps. I just moved a pile of firewood and had no problems breathing with the smoke/odor except for the burning eyes.

crispy out there. last measurable rainfall was 5/20 with .08, before that 5/13 with .28

My veg gardens are as loose and dry as the surface of a sand dune and they are too big to water using our well.

  5. I tilled my 100'x24' garden today. The soil was more dry than I ever remember for this time in the spring. At least the soil, now tilled can retain more rain as it occurs. With this prelude, I am wondering what is in store for us this summer.

Mr Map took this shot of our giant weeping cherry tree after the storms. Our favorite tree, loving the contrast

Beautiful picture!  Years ago I made crab mallets out of a cherry tree branch for family members which was great until the discovery that cherry bark contains arsenic. That was not my intended message.

My seed order from Territorial Seed should be arriving in a couple days. Going to get my setup tidied up in preparation for getting seeds started at the beginning of next month!

I've never had a ton of success with spring vegetables, but I'm going to give it a shot this year. Lettuce, broccoli, spinach, and mache will go in for early season, followed by four different tomato varieties, jalapenos, and Athena melon (with some herbs sprinkled in).

Do you use a seed incubator? The tomato seeds and especially the pepper seeds need warm soil (75F) to germinate. I use a string of incandescent Christmas lights sandwiched between large, metal cooking trays, under an insulating hood with grow lights.

That first pic...I am pretty much WSW from Bel Air.  That's what rolled over us. The punch when the wind hit was immediate. We went from no wind to had to be 60 mph+. The power was gone just a second or two after the wind hit. Sustained for the first bit. The tree damage and snapped lines in Monkton on Monkton Rd. near the NCR trail and also on Corbett Rd between NCR trail and middle school was jaw dropping.

I assume NWS found straightline wind damage in northern balt county as opposed to a quick spinny?  Cell service and data has been hard to come by so I didn't see any of the posts (if there were any) about what the NWS survey found...

I could not force open a door against that wind pressure on the upwind side of my building in Sparks during that surge. In hindsight that was probably a good thing.
