  1. I would guess the sensor shield with a breeze is acting like an aspirated shield on say a Davis station. That's my guess with regards to that, maybe it would should have one 24hrs? Idk

The reasons lie in the region’s geography and settlement patterns: Cities heat up more than outlying areas do, Newark sits near sea level, and it is not blessed by the ocean breezes that can take the edge off the heat in New York City and Connecticut and on Long Island. (A somewhat wonkier explanation is below.)
  3. Severe thunderstorm watches extended through nyc into Nassau County or just up to it

  10. Latest 2 temperature outlooks have below normal temps for us in the next 6-10,8-14 and even the 3-4 week period, though that's equal chance. Interesting

  12. The south fork, Hamptons is being hit but the north fork is not. Shelter Island is literally the dividing line.

  15. 78 with a dew of 69, feels like 78.3
  16. And it's rainy Saturday after all, didn't expect to see that.
  17. Down to 75 with winds up to 35 mph.
  18. Eeked out an 82 today but now it's blowing 22 mphs
  19. Down to 80 now, with high dew point
  20. Temperate dropped a bit, wind started cranking
  21. That's one thing I thought was odd with the heat, was that it would have strong winds along with it
  22. Didn't get as warm as I thought it would today.
  23. Nam slowed down a bit. Nws pointed that out. But it doesn't have any support at this point.
  24. So how well does the nam do in terms of timing say fronts during the summer months?
