I haven't measured in a few hours, but my daughter just came in from clearing off her car. She took a ruler out and measured an average of 10-11" in 3 locations.
I know, not official, but that's good enough for me from her.
I measure around 10" so she is pretty good. LOL

yeah most of them love to downplay snow storms so many times they have been way wrong. when i hear them saying the most accurate forecast lol.
Yea ABC27 finally updated totals at noon. They were stuck on 4-8. WGAL 8 has been saying 8-12 for days.

I never had much faith in the Harrisburg stations forecast.

@dcfox1 what's going on up on Chickies neighbor? I'm closing in quickly on 8" here.
The sleet compressed it to around 4 overnight but picked around 2 in last hour or so thump.

WGAL 8 still has 8-12, WHTM 27 still with 4-8. WHTM is usually on the low side.

4:55PM OBS
-SN
27.2 degrees
Total snow: 2.5"
About the same here went from mod to light now. Edit: As soon as I posted it went to Mod lol

The three 6PM locals were all over the place in total. WGAL had the most at 8-12 in Lancaster and have been the most accurate in the past.

Still stuck at 32. More of a glaze then i expected, the warm air is taking its time. The passing car headlights really highlight it.

I can remember doing a water rescue down around Cargill. Helicopter trying to get people off there roof, and huge ice chunks floating by. Not sure if you were on duty that day.
Actually I was off that day but heard it on the scanner and heard about it the next shift. That guy should had have gotten out of there the day before. It Always floods there. He was a drunk. It was was at riverfront park and he rented it from the twp. It was torn down now and made part of the park. You were right the road to it is right at what was Cargill.

Good there is little ice upstate. 96 had a lot of ice involved. I lived along the river in York Co (across from Marietta) and watched boats coming down. House was on high ground so stopped short but had huge ice chunks till late spring in front.

Seems like the heavy rain has been in upper sus valley and NY state where they had the most snow. All that is coming down here to LSV. It would be much worse if not for the low river levels. Not related but what was the year of the big Ice storm 8 or so years ago. I lost power for 2 1/2 day.

I saw WGAL joe met keep saying it is a Nor'easter but different. Now I see why. Usually North and West Pa. misses out. Not this time. I saw 3 feet of wet snow in the early 90's at my parents cabin in Huntington Co. and no power so I can't imagine in the 40 inch range. Hopefully it was powder.

Well lots of pinging on the windows.
-
Just no freezing rain I like Power.

I was at 6.3" at the time of full transition.
Now that I found the right thread I am at the same as you just south of you for those that don't know.

Ok thanks I didn't realize that I have not been here in a while. I was wondering why this was so quiet. Thanks.

Well sleet mix now. But looks like 5 maybe 6 inches so far before it compacts.
-
Right on schedule mod to heavy snow now.

Learned in my Coast Guard days the saying red sky at night sailors delight. Red sky in morning sailors warning. It was real red this morning like someone posted earlier. It usually is true.

I'm better than fine with that.
When is the last time that everyone who posts in this thread got at least 1' from the same storm? Even Clearfield is 1' on that map. 13" of ice/snow = very satisfied.
Please quote this post tomorrow evening when I'm complaining about sleet.
I think the same thing. We are going to be close to the mix line. At least now I don't have to deal with accidents since now retired.

Very light wind and I have a open field in front of my house. Even if it was it is 32 degrees so snow on the ground is heavy now.
