Between 1/2 - 1" in Columbia...definitely shy of 1" though. Snow is light to moderate but doesn't seem to be accumulating much. Roads are improving quickly.

Yep went from heavy to mod snow here. 441 over Chickies always is bad at the onset of heavy snow burst like we had.

At 2:50pm I am happy to report that the white drizzle has become heavy enough to cross over into light snow.  The temp has risen back up to 34.0, so no accumulations yet.  Rest assured, I'll be back later to update everyone when my board officially records 0.1".

    I call it Snizzle.

Trying to read and interpret this - what forecasters have been way off? The only one that I've posted discussion from has clearly said since last weekend that this was NOT going to be storm for us. The chances of getting snow from the coastal were always low...for reasons that many on here talked about. Also, given how many moving pieces there are flying around, models aren't going to lock into a set outcome days and days in advance. I won't speak for anyone but me, but at no point did I "expect" to get anything from the coastal storm.

I haven't heard or read any met (worth their salt) predict a significant snowstorm in our area. Not saying it hasn't happened, but the ones I follow have been downplaying this from day #1 and haven't wavered one bit.

    Agree

From your place north there's notably more snow cover than south...along the river between Columbia and Conestoga it's obliterated. Still a fair amount of snow up this way in protected places.

Yea the field in front of me and as far a can see south to up to Klinesville Rd still snow. The southern exposure always melts my yard faster in full sun.

Ice storm warning for me now. My entire run from Hazleton to Allentown. It's going to be an interesting night hauling water unless the customer cuts loads, or I call it off myself if it gets bad...

Just curious but if you are loaded and then canceled say power out at destination on last load  do you have to dump the water.  I assume you would if below freezing or a certain temp.

Howdy gents (and ladies if there are any out there), I'm a long time lurker of various weather forums but decided to finally take the plunge and join.  Been keeping fairly detailed weather data going on ten years now for my location here just south of Mount Joy in Lancaster County.  I live at the base of Chickies Ridge (Chiques if ya like), on the north side, at a low elevation of only ~360 ft.  I'm prone to some pretty decent inversions on calm clear winter nights where I'll often be 5-10 degrees colder than up on the ridge.  Of course, the opposite is true in all other scenarios, which is the vast majority of the time ha.  Anyway, now that I told you a bit about myself, let's get to tracking.  Too many impulses coming through in the next week to not cash the goods on something.  Seemed like the perfect time to join, cheers!

Your really close to me. I am at the top of Chickies hill  back a lane off Klinesville Rd.
