Still waiting for the garden to dry enough to till, but first two mowing sessions complete, clean up of more blow downs than ever in our back woods, and some good, albeit chilly pedaling.
We got in one last ski Wed night, likely the last night to ski continuous from the lift. The fork is in.
one goes out, another comes in...

Ahh Spring. Beautiful wind driven snow and 22F
Probably not a bad idea considering our valley river was starting to flood, lots of standing water and more field ice than I have ever seen. We get a solo freeze today I may skate to the mountain tomorrow

noticeable difference at 1900’. We left Jay in wind driven heavy snow. Probably 8” there at close, but ripping and colder. The paste line was particularly noticeable about 500’ below the parking lot

This morning was my best morning on the hill. Place was empty ghost town for 8" overnight. Love these upslope events that don't bring the crowds... no named Noreaster, no media hype with TWC posting snow maps...just lots of pow for those that sort-of pay attention.
It was curiously empty up here too PF
Seemed everyone new each other in the line up for first chairs. Seasons are changing as the topic of the morning revolved around boiling

2” so far up here of surprise snow. Just doesn’t want to stop
Fingers crossed for the weekend storm.
Speaking of snowbanks, an unplanned route from the Montreal airport last weekend took us through Bolton-est. full size truck and the banks were overhead! Looked like their microclimate never received rain

Another 3.5”.

Little Averill Pond, VT
I think the best way to challenge the notions of a foliage let down is to get out there in the woods. What is dull from across the valley or from a road side view regains it’s magic in the sunlight, or even in a cloudy mist
