Alot of schools dont want the bus hassle. And some schools are commuter only which puts pressure on parents to leave work early. Going to go with close tues wed

Lol. Ive scene it go from a 70 degree day to 6 inches of snow following day. Early morning prior to sunrise will have impacts. My elementary kids get picked up for bus at 645am

Yet hes likely wrong. with These slow long duration events its really hard to match snowfall vice snow depth. I am meticulous with my board and measurements. If you wait too long you never are able to get very good measurements. By my calcs we were around 10:1 possible 11:1

Unfortunately they just don't measure accurately . No way they all werent at least 10:1

No they are off by 1.5-2 inches.. this has happened many times with IAD measures. Got love they are surrounded by 7s

They obviously messed up.. we had 6 inches by 9am.. picked up another .5 before 2 round.. and got almost another 2 inches.. with compaction at 9 PM I was at 7+

IAD definitely undermeasured this morning. Approaching 8 inches just south west of airport.

Picked up almost 1.5 inches since this restarted. Should be over 7 inches now.

I was about dead on 6 inches about a few miles south West of IAD. Picked up only about .25 inches since 830

To be fair they said localized which was intended on capturing any insane banding. Most had the region was forecasted between 6-12.

Because they were hedging on the model output extremes. Not the actual forecase put out by nws

What were you expecting? 10 inches by 7am.. chill you are within range of our 5-10 inch forecast.
