  1. so much potential the next couple of weeks i think we're going to get big numbers if things work out in our favor. I didn't check but do we have some blocking coming up with these systems? miller b's favor new england but we could get snow without a doubt. Looks cold enough for snow after the next storm! Euro next

  2. MJO phase 6 by the 13th.
Getting to 8 before the end of the season will likely be the determining factor as to whether or not we get at least 1 snow period this season (of course we could always get a fluke like Feb. 18, Jan 12, March 98 etc etc.).

  4. Hi, I was just wondering why models always underestimate dynamic and evaporative cooling? GFS is known for this according to my research? Anyone underestimate this happening on our next system or it's all rain for anybody south of 287?

  5. The 0z ICON looked pretty good for snow on Sun-Mon. Ended up roughly similar to the 18z GFS, but with slightly delayed timing. Say what you want about the ICON, if nothing else it's useful for confirming the other models and identifying trends.

    icon is a garbage model

  6. Good morning everyone, it is 50 degrees at Central Park this morning and cloudy and rain is about to move in. It doesn't look heavy just a nuisance. Hopefully it gets colder in the weeks coming up because global warming it seems like it really is taking a toll now. Have a great day reader.

  7. currently 41 and crisp outside of Central Park. Can't wait for some actual snow Imagine one of those storms works out for us the next few weeks, those are sizable storms that could produce pretty good snowstorms. Envisioning it is key!
