  1. Light rain continues in Marysville.
Rain in varying intensities has been ongoing all day in Harrisburg & Marysville.
Rain today so far is 1.26
Total rain since Sunday is 3.81

Almost the exact same here in Linglestown. 3.75” as of 6 pm. Over 4 including Saturday.

  2. Just measured 5” here in Lebanon with light snow presently.  Like others, even with 5” on the snow board, roads and sidewalks just wet, even with a night storm

It’s wild.. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger discrepancy between asphalt and other surfaces with a storm, including late season daytime paste bombs. close to 7” on my deck board, but the road in my development is barely covered. This will also likely go down as the biggest difference I’ve witnessed between here and mdt for a single event. Weird storm.

  3. Well I dunno where exactly in Harrisburg everyone there lives but it seems like it’s snowing everywhere in/around town there now looking at 511 cams. The 700mb FGEN band is setup overhead as well. This should pile up pretty fast.

It’s delivering the goods about 5 miles NE of Harrisburg.. we just got a special weather statement indicating up to 3”/hour in spots.. I’ve picked up an additional 1.5 since midnight.

  4. Packers really outplayed them. 49ers deserved to lose.

Agreed. And I think this game reiterated that when the niners are missing even one single weapon on offense, they kind of look like paper tigers, pretty mundane.. their defense is solid but not special.. I don’t think their game against the Ravens was a fluke.. if it comes down to a re-match I think they get handled again.

Legit cold going to be in Texas for about 70 hours next week. Should be impressive.

My co-worker is running in the Bandera 100K marathon down there this weekend.  Looks like they'll miss the Arctic shot by a day or so.. I can't imagine running a 100k in a year let alone 12 hours... then add bone-chilling cold to the mix, that would've felt more like the Iditarod.

We got the colder solution on the Euro I said we needed thankfully. Let's hope we don't lose the look.

Amen.  Nice event verbatim with no mixing concerns.  i think many would take the tradeoff of less high-end potential for a pure snow event that sticks around.  i want to take my nieces sledding without sleet crust or cold wet mud creeping into the equation like many storms in recent years.

Here we are mid-December and here we are with Whitetail, Roundtop and Liberty 100% closed from what I can see.  Seems like a yearly tradition to have no early winter skiing anymore.

Indeed.. It's getting hard to justify buying season passes.. i stopped two years ago.  having to thread the needle to get down to Roundtop on days when conditions are half decent gets old.. i'll still get down there at every opportunity, but now I don't feel the pressure to go on crappy nights just to get my moneys worth out of the pass.

Almost identical experience for me - likewise, I have a 20 minute commute and it took me 2.5 hours to get home the day you're referring to. I even waited a while to leave work that day to give road crews a chance to catch up. Nope. That actually was my worst drive home commute...ever.

Ditto, worst I've experienced to this point.  Once things got grid-locked it was game-over.. i remember so many vehicles just spinning their wheels on any type of incline.. just no ability to gain momentum.  I considered pulling off into a parking lot and walking home the last 3 miles as I had a hungry pup at home.  Probably the only snowstorm I didn't fully enjoy in my life.

Today in 2018 we had a fun clipper come through that put down 2-3”

Was that the commute-a-geddon  storm that way over-performed with heavy mid-day rates?  I think HIA had ~8" on the books for that one but I don't recall if that was 2018 or 19.  I just remember it taking 3 hours to get home for what is usually a 20 minute commute.

Not sure the talent currently is better, but it's definitely addition by subtraction.

Agreed.  Distraction gone at least. Guess we have to wait until the trade deadline in Feb. to see if Morey's plan to flip the accumulated draft picks for an impact player comes to fruition.

  11. Tell Arizona that.
Unfortunately, I think just about everyone in red felt the same way.

Almost a carbon copy of last year.. tear through the wild card round, knock off the braves behind great pitching and red-hot bats.. look unbeatable at home.. then just can’t sustain it and go ice cold when it matters most… Harper, Turner, castellanos brutally cold to end the series. Baseball is a funny game.

I have that familiar feeling going into tonight.  Not a positive thing.

They are not losing 2 in a row at home to this team!

Feeling both of these simultaneously.  This will be my inner-dialogue for the next 12 hours.

    18Z on Sunday at MDT:

    GFS Says near 95

    CMC says near 85

Icon, which apparently won the short-term model forecast for Idalia says 87....a lean toward CMC.

    18Z on Mon at MDT:

    GFS says near 100

    CMC says 90-91

    Icon says 90

GFS is a relentless scorcher.  Never enjoy seeing those deep pink 850 temp anomalies on tropical tidbits but they set up shop for pretty much the entire run. I need one of those emergency eyewash stations from  high-school Chemistry class after looking at that.   Euro was similar last night.  Still hope we see some back-down as we get closer.  Would compromise with the board heat-misers on the CMC's voice of reason solution.
