  1. It's funny, first you admit that you guys botched it and then you backslide and blame the poor lady reporter for just doing her job -- really sad. Especially for a government employee who gets paid $100,000 a year to do what he loves and then says he doesn't get paid that much. Seems like you're having some trouble with the truth
  2. Wow still trying to blame!! Wow, just wow!!
  3. And that really shows a lot of class -- trying to blame a reporter when it's the person she's reporting who messed up!!! Wow!
  4. And I'm still waiting for an answer: Why wasn't Iovino more ambiguous?!! I think he was trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about so if he nailed it then he was golden!! Just like Sal here at 2:30 -- "why's he being so specific" -- "it's a dumb approach"!
  5. That's nice. But seriously, did anyone 2 days ago say that they weren't gonna get anything?!
  6. I really didn't post this to make the guy, or NWS, look bad -- but to highlight the difficulties in forecasting. Though this guy could have saved himself a lot of embarrassment if he had just been more ambiguous instead of being so sure of himself -- so yeah, he really did it to himself!! Sorry you don't like it, but don't kill the messenger -- I'm just reporting the facts guys!! Just like that dang Coatesville!!! Boy if I didn't post cool stuff like this, this place would be boring as heck, lol!!
  7. Hey is there a meeting associated with this forum? where we can all get together in person (or zoom). That may be cool, lol
  8. Hey is there a meeting associated with this forum? where we can all get together in person (or zoom). That may be cool,
  9. And I might remind everyone that even Scranton had 21" for a 24-hour record, so they REALLY got it wrong!!
  10. Well I'll be a met next year, so you can listen to me then!!
  11. Actually, I'm getting a masters in ATMO right now!! And want to be a forecaster, so I'm telling you what I would have said, and what every good forecaster should say, instead of painting yourself into a corner. And they make very good $$, 70 to 100k Their forecasts are very important, for commerce, people in general. People lost their lives directly because of this botched forecast!!! What are you talking about?!!
  12. I don't get it, is this hard to understand?!!
  13. If you don't know just say you don't know, but don't make the completely incorrect forecast!!!!
  14. I'm not, I'm just questioning what we're paying these people a lot of money to do -- get extremely important forecasts completely wrong??!!!!
  15. But then why be so definitive, why not just say "it's still too early to tell if this storm will head north or out to sea"?? So easy, right??
  16. I mean I can see how they botched the Blizzard of 1888 forecast, but 1996 -- the day before!! Come on!!!!!!
  17. That's actually part of my point, 96 wasn't that long ago!!!! And I really don't think a reporter would mess up quotes to the point of misrepresenting what the person said, do you? Was he trying to say that we were going to get a big storm and it came out this way?! I don't think so -- it was just a horrible forecast, and I remember it vividly!!!
  18. Well it's actually Tucson, AZ. Just trying to understand where this guy is seeing all this snow. Hey, check out my newest post, 'hilarious forecast'!
  19. The day before the Blizzard of 96 -- "it will not be a significant event in the Allentown area," and "even for Philadelphia it doesn't look like it will be a terribly heavy snowfall" -- then 25" to 35", LOL! Why would a meteorologist ever say something like that given the complete unpredictability of the weather -- heck the mathematical term "chaos" even came about by studying the weather!!!
  20. First of all, I don't think think your post will make it past the mods, for swearing! Second, it's pretty deceiving to put multiple locations down for yourself -- pick 1! Third, I live in Tucson, so I don't post snow totals!! And fourth, I thought LV in my handle narrowed down my location enough -- it means Lehigh Valley (for Agnes!)
  21. Ok, can we ask him to be more precise on where he's located, or is that asking too much too?!
  22. And that guy needs to more precise with his location: maybe lake harmony, maybe NJ, maybe Denver, maybe Utah -- who knows where he is!!
