  1. This was one of those storms that truly sticks out in the long-range department. It wasn't quite as clear as Feb 2003 because it was happening very early in the season. I remember posting about the threat well in advance and talking with Will. Way out (month or more) I wasn't sure if the potential would be major or not because of mixing etc. As we got closer, the pattern just started screaming historic December snowstorm and I couldn't believe it (for the time of year). Truly a remarkable event.
  2. This made me truly laugh out loud. As you have already stated, deaths were inevitable given the incredibly bad combination of factors yesterday for death. The more entertaining thing post-disaster is watching people become infatuated with the death toll and then say things like "isn't it horrible." Yeah okay... I'd rather be talking about the wx behind the outbreak.
  3. I would argue that if the morning MCS had not been there that this would not have been as crazy in the Deep South. Also, I hate to be an anvil-level wind freak but anyone catch how different Wednesday's numbers were from Tuesday's? They were substantially lower yesterday over the Deep South and allowed several supercells IMO.
  4. Today's jet structure/mid-upper level winds are just...wow.
