CAE with 75 days over 90 so far. Not too bad actually, I think they had like 120 days one year recently. 30 days of 95+ (but 13 more at 94), and just 7 of 100+. All in all not too bad for them, but still a ways to go.

Edit: Quick check, looks like 2016 they had 109 days of 90+, with 21 days of 100+. 111 days of 90+ in 2018.

GSP at 51 of 90+, with 8 at 95+, an overall high of 97. (2019)

Wow. Only 75? They are running a bit behind. Of course, they can hit 90 into October. Yea, 2016 was a miserable hot summer and 2018 seemed like it would never end. Hurricane Michael finally ended that summer. Do you happen to have this years stats for Augusta Bush Field (KAGS)? Here in the NRV,  today may be the last time this year we get close to 90. Highs will be in the 70s by week's end.

Living near Columbia I have already switch to snow denial mode in a feeble attempt to reduce the severity of the inevitable let down. Heck one year it snowed west of me then east along the coast. Felt like I was living in a weather related practical joke.   The emotional toll (and resulting liquor expenditures) for every missed snow chance was more than a little frustrating.

So true. Columbia is an awful place unless you like hot, humid and dry sunny weather.

I'm still learning which patterns work out the best for me in the high country.  Honestly, all those years of living in Columbia have me excited if I see half a foot for the year.

Me too. Being over 2,000 feet in SW Virginia has me pretty excited. Columbia is pretty much a bad place if you like exciting weather.

100 yesterday at CAE, followed by a morning low of 81, followed by 101 today. Still 96 at 7:00 pm. OUCH ! :yikes:

That place is hotter than 3 hells. Had a nice, cool 65 for a low and a warm 86 for a high here in the NRV.

Latest update from @NWSSPC shows a significant increase in severe t-storm risk this afternoon. An Enhanced Risk means numerous storms producing winds in excess of 60mph are now possible across all of Upstate SC, northeast GA, and parts of NC. Please stay aware! #GAwx #NCwx #SCwxD9rfoD7U0AAWSII.jpg

Enhanced??? We got slammed last night with only a slight probability.

That first MCS really had wheels! Kansas City to Charleston and Savannah in less than 24 hours.

We got nailed by that line around 4am. Trees and power lines downed across the midlands of SC. Second severe thunderstorm event in less than 48 hours with more in the forecast. Pretty unusual for late June down here

  7. Whole lot of nothing so far today here. We have even seen some extended periods of sunshine today.  I'm watching that growing line though well south of me. With the sun and temps in the 80s, there could be some pretty good storms later. We will see.

  8. The dry streak here officially ended this morning. Currently a thunderstorm with heavy rain. 73 degrees.                                Edit. These storms are producing some insane rain rates. Already close to 1.4 inches has fallen.

Yeah we'll see about the rain. I'm in the 7-10 inch band on one run I saw; hope I dont get that much:blink:.

With snow, I'm kinda in that western upstate snow hole, oconee and pickens counties that get skipped a lot due to down slope drying and coastal transfers; BUT,  I'm just far enough east to usually get something. Last year I got three inches (of mostly sleet) from the December storm, and that was it for the whole season. Got two snows the year before but only 2-3 inches each.

Got ya. You are in that "Savannah/ Chattooga river screwzone. I've noticed in some situations that a nose of warm air will travel up the Savannah river all the way to the escarpment. Your best snow bet in SC is from Greenville county and Northeast along and north of I-85. Downsloping is our worst enemy in SC and east GA.
