  1. I would take a 9:30 sunset over an 8:30 sunset in a heartbeat. Sucks big time being so far east in the central time zone. There’s nothing good about living here honestly. I seriously might consider moving.
  2. This new GFS is terrible. Has a very severe cold bias that they STILL haven’t fixed yet for some reason.
  3. I'm starting to think this garbage, relentless, cold and wet pattern is related to the solar minimum. We're entering a deep solar minimum. Going to have to wait a few years at very least for this pattern to break. Might not see a warm year again until maybe the mid 2020s.
  4. I swear, lake breezes/pneumonia fronts are stronger now than they were years back. Temps dropping into the 50s in June because of a silly lake breeze front? What's next, lake-effect snow in July? smh.
  5. This is by far the worst Spring I’ve ever lived through in my life. Just ****ing awful.
  6. Serious question: why are the models still so unreliable and so laughably inaccurate in 2019? It's to the point where I can't trust anything more than 24 hours out. Even the ECMWF's performance has been total garbage as of late.
  7. so far this Spring definitely ranks up there as one of the worst of all time, and the long range continues to look miserable (especially lakeside), even as we head into May.
  8. Been hearing some talk about a potential year without a summer actually transpiring this year. Is there much truth to that? It wouldn't surprise me tbh.
  9. Considering highs might not get out of the 30s and 40s for the next two weeks after next Tuesday, it's definitely possible that negative departures won't be too far off last April. especially in regards to highs.
  10. Christ... this April might actually be worse than last year. Definitely wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being colder and snowier in some areas. Just unreal.
  11. Wasn’t April 2010 like the king of -NAO Aprils though? Maybe it might not be as devastating as previously thought. Either way, it does seem like it won’t lock in for very long this time, hopefully...
  12. Why is this subforum so quiet compared to the others? Awfully boring in here to be honest, especially compared to the New England subforum, which seems to have posts every minute.
  13. You would take winter in April over sensible spring weather in April? You're definitely in the minority.
  14. If Chicago doesn't hit 70 until mid May this year it will not surprise me.
  15. well it looks like you can kiss a warm April goodbye, might be even worse than last year, I think. In fact, I think this entire year might be the one of the coldest on record by a long shot for the eastern half of the country. Wouldn't surprise me if we see some snow in June. It's one of the consequences of climate change unfortunately. Years like 2012 may never be seen in the midwest/east ever again.
