I've got 3+ now and I'm hoping that backwash will give me another 3 to hit the goal. But now I must give the ole' liver it's beauty rest for the festivities tomorrow. Good luck to all!

Closing in on 2". After it dropped to 34.5 is changed to all snow and it has been hammering for about 2 hours.
You and the kids are going to have fun tomorrow!

I'm sitting at 23.7° and my snow isn't wet. Huge, glittery flakes here.

Wow. I'm only at 27.2 here. It's definitely a 10:1, maybe 9:1 ratio. I'm getting a almost due east wind also though. That might have something to do with it.

Continued great rates here. Probably 1/2 inch an hour. Just steady to moderate snow. Boy its beautiful laying on absolutely everything.
This stuff is pretty wet. It's plastering everything. It'll be gorgeous in the morning.

Back to some great rates now too. Radar filled back in nicely.

It backed off to light snow for last the 20 minutes. Looks to be maybe a light inch here.

Pouring fatties here now. Finally got below freezing (29.4). Radar looks decent for a while so maybe we can get everybody in on this.

Not a flake here yet and still above freezing at 33.6. It only got to 38.8 today so hopefully I can get to freezing before the precip moves in. Congrats to those who are seeing snow!

Ha, I won't be home to enjoy. Up in Bluefield and a foot up here does me no good except keeping me in the hotel
Ha! I know exactly how you feel. I was in Albany one time and they got 11 inches and it didn't impress me at all!

Another year of 80"+ of rain and we struggle to get 3" of snow in one storm!
You always amaze me with your rain totals. How much is your record year?

Down in the valley, I will put the 2-4 in the good snow category.
My scale is a little on the high side!
5 minutes ago, WxKnurd said:That scale pretty much matches up with mine Joe lol. I'm hoping for a decent event for my area, be good to get some pics from my wife of the dogs playing in the snow.
You'll die if this thing gets super amped and drops a foot!

True down this way
.You've been so close this year. You'll get yours when that monster Kraken rolls through in a couple of weeks.

Given their track record the last couple systems gotta lean false.
I agree. I think it might end up being a number 2 on the SnoJoe scale:
- 1-2 inches = Nickels and dimes
- 2-4 inches = Ok, I guess. What's for dinner?
- 4-6 inches = Decent
- 6+ inches = A good snow

Whatcha' think? True or false?

I've got sleet here too. I heard it before I saw it.

I see thI see that we're heading back to the marginal temp regime again. The dreaded 33 and rain forecast.Thursday NightRain, mainly after 11pm. Low around 33. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

By far my most favorite event of the year. I love a storm where you say "Dang, it's STILL snowing" five or 6 times over the course of three days. I still say we're going to pull off a big storm for all sometime this month. This is a different winter this year so I expect a different ending to it.

Just took a wonderful snow hike and found some semi-protected areas with 8 inch totals so that's what I'm going with. Also found some 3 and 4 foot drifts. Snow was almost chest high in a creek bed near my house where the wind filled it up. Still light snow and cold. A great winter day!

I have anywhere between 2 and 18 inches and still moderate snow. I'll try to get a measurement later but it's going to be tough to get an accurate one. If I had to guess, I would say maybe 8 inches. It's 17.4 with gusty wind. Looking at radar, it's going to snow all day.

This to me is classic NW flow snow. Still hammering here in town.
I agree. Temps are right, brutal wind chills, about a 15:1 ratio, sideways snow. I bet Bucket's getting smoked right now.

I had my doubts but we have the best rates of the day, although horizontal. This is starting to take a turn to a nice flow event if it keeps it up. Might pour me another or two and stay up awhile.

What’s going on under those returns in Morganton and Lenoir? It’s been sitting over them and back building for an hour or more
I've been watching that too. That's a lot of energy that's broken containment. Surely it's not all virga.

It's really picked up here as well. The windiest it's been all day. This fluffy stuff will make for some awesome drifts over night.

I'm getting a good burst every now and then but then it's back to light snow. It's cold with the wind and now I just slipped into the teens(19.3). We'll see how the night turns out but it better get to snowing if I'm going to get the 4 to 8 I was promised. I'd say I've had an inch so far.

Had 4 here. Would still like a "bigun' in the last two weeks of Feb. I think we'll pull it off.
