Don’t post often but been around since the beginning of eastern wx. I don’t remember how I found this site after that went into the crapper? Probably google helped? I don’t recall just glad we are back up.
-
Little sketchy right now but it seems gas pressure was too high? Who knows but all I can hear is sirens in the distance.
-
My new car purchase is a 2017 Hyundai Sonata sport turbo. Bought it last May, If you step on the gas it flies and if you don’t great gas mileage. Drove from Wilmington MA to Jones beach LI NY (not to much traffic) 34 mpg. Love it!

I swear this is one of those things most people don't even realize they have until it's gone. Losing power is so common around the state with Eversource and National Grid that people almost get used to it and expect it to happen. It's hard to imagine living somewhere where it doesn't happen until you actually live there. Until I moved to Wilmington, I had no idea what a perk it was, and I still didn't realize it fully until after I left.
RMLD is going to have their hands full in the AM still have power but I have huge limbs dangling on the power lines

Shh if this last band performs we may break 32 lol.
-
Sorry to hear. ya rmld is good. But I live in a house that borders in all directions with conservation land and the town will not allow us to cut them down. Frustrating!

I think it all boils down to the way people measure. If I went out there right now and stuck a yardstick in the ground, I'd probably get the 23-24 that is the "official" measurement for Andover. But, if you're measuring every 6 hours, and clearing, and avoiding the compaction (ie. actually measuring snowfall), the numbers can change significantly. I have a feeling 90% or more of the official measurements involve someone going outside after the storm ends and sticking a ruler in the ground.
The bottom line is myself, and a number of other local posters, were in this thread all day, and sitting under the same bands Ray was, and his measurements were perfectly in line with what we were seeing.
That is the truth! Who cares we got crushed. I have limbs hanging on my power line so that is my focus.

Either way huge storm#unforgettablelol.

I'll back Ray up , all you got to do is go back in this thread. He was a couple inches ahead of me and that death band sat over him longer than me. Watch the radar loop.
Yep

Ray, I gotta say, congrats.
You finally got your death band.
I can't lie, I was being a b*tch earlier. So close yet so far from something epic here. I'm happy that you cashed in of all people though. You certainly know the feeling.
30" was a hell of a call too. You were out on the skinniest limb with that one.
What's the city look like I'm gonna be in tomorrow?
-
Wow th returns sure did dry up quickly. Maybe 30.5 Lol

I did 4"/hr in the first trip through the death band mid AM....5"/hr in the second round from like 4-5pm.
I think we were probably close to 3/ hour as the band moved east after 7:00 also what a storm!
-
I think we may add a few inches to the 30 spot too before all is said and done.

Oh, I have power my man, hope you do to. Not sure if it's quite 30" but 27-29" maybe the upper bounds. We'll see what the finals are but what a storm. I thought these totals would be around Plymouth, Brockton, Taunton. Not reversed.
Still have mine but a huge limb is hanging on my wires I'm not hopeful it does not take em down. Going out for the final shovel tonight has to be another 6 inches nuts

Sorry to lose you Ray to the north east. It was fun to see the difference between my side of Wilmington and yours now it will be a few towns away. Good luck with your new purchase hope it fulfills your families needs at this juncture.
