This is exactly why I don't get over emotional over digital snow. I'm not sure what the state of the technology is regarding weather system analysis but these wild swings are really ridiculous at this point.
For all intents and purposes the maps may as well be wallpaper. And I don't need or want spring in Feb in a temperate climate. Not unless you're turned on by bugs, knats and mud because it's too early for the growing season. And everything smells funny until the green gets going. So, no. Spring comes regardless of snow amounts.
Yeah its great fantasizing about mega storms until you have to dig out multiple cars on a steep driveway. Just playing in it is cool but moving it around isn't. And don't get me started on Pepco and their rates again. We get a mega storm and they'll be cracking open the champagne.
Just sayin'...some practical things to consider beyond reacting to every "model". Best guess is Cuba gets the storm at this point.

I almost got killed there once when i was all dressed in my Ravens gear. An unusual amount of mentally ill people live there. Almost makes NY look normal.
I know this isn't a banter thread, but
Rule of thumb, always wear green OVER your gear in Philly. But they're not so tough outside their back yard. My brother and I went to a home Commanders game against the Eagles and some of their fans were loud, drunk and stupid...one woman kept yelling "run the f'in ball!" the entire game like a broke record. Some others kept standing up, cussing and trying to disrupt everything and blocking views. All their asses nearly got tossed from the upper decks and security had to save them. My brother who is 6'5" and 297lbs of tank picked up one dumb fool and dropped him into his seat. Quiet as a lamb after that and sipped his beer.
IMO Jets and Bills fans are just as bad in their back yard. Raider fans no joke either when they get riled up. Eagles fans believe their own hype a bit too much and work hard at it but that crap doesn't roll in D.C. If they wanna burn their city to the ground after wins that's their buisness. My brother and I agreed Ravens/Eagles would have been a legit super bowl with a much better matchup.
Philly...Land of a million stop signs every ten feet.

It’s only snow. It’s nothing compared to real life, health and family. So we get skunked, it’s annoying but nothing in the grand scheme of life.
People are posting too much. I'm a snow lover too but can't get that emotional about it. It's just cold pressed water that lays around.

Can somebody with either a meteorology degree or extensive knowledge chime in with what they’re seeing? Cause the weenie cliff diving is annoying as shit lol. This is why I despise long range clown maps. People see one run showing 24” and now a 8-12 or 12-16 type event causes pandemonium
that's why the scroll key is your best friend sometimes...

That was almost 100 years ago and measured at the Arboretum I think... not a runway on an island in the patomac river. lol
They probably won't ever challenge that so long as they keep the official records at DCA.
I forget what the "official" number was in 2016 but there was 22" in my parents back yard. Native Washingtonians have laughed at DCA for as long as I can remember. Everyone in a circle around the city would get 10" and they come up with 8" on a concrete runway. We called it the hotplate special.

I've been loving these 4-6" storms the past two winters, but I keep fantasizing about getting a big dump of 17", 30", or whatever big number.
I'm sure Pepco is hoping too now that they're charging 2-4x 'cold weather' rates when its below 32. The DMV is enraged.

~6". No complaints at all. It's loverly out there...a thick white snuggle blanket. My neighbor's tree of fat blue jays are all snug as a bug in a rug. Birds were everywhere 3 days before the storm 'stocking up; then disappeared. They knew a storm was coming.

Over 2 inches now with heavy snow. I think it snowed 0.5 inches in the last 25 minutes or so.
Ditto. The city salted the streets here at around noon. It's still there...under the snow, of course.

We are now below the Mendoza line...snow sticking everywhere. Trees, bushes. Grass going white. Starting to stick to cars. Might get some sweet totals out of this one.
