  1. On a related note, I'm determined to actually watch my iPhone or desktop clock jump from 1:59 to 3:00 tonight.  I'll let you know how it goes.

If you miss it and end up throwing your phone, at least you’ll see time fly.

  2. They're showing these huge pythons in Florida on TV right now that are eating all the local wildlife.... and I thought the bugs and gators were bad wow.
Reason number 1 not to live in Florida are these pythons!

    A snake that’s 3.14 feet long is a pi-thon.

  3. Question: You don't find weather interesting year round? We all have our favorites I'm sure but I've always wondered about the snow birds we have, and there are many of them.

I do; life is just busier then. I find some thunderstorm development interesting, but it’s just easier to use this app when it’s dark and cold.

You’re probably stoked for this, but all of the long range calls have been seemingly lousy recently, so why would it suddenly change when it’s something that you want? (That goes for snow and cold, too)

  5. I like that it's cold water!  And I'm glad we don't live in a warmer climate like what Texas has.  Did you hear about brain eating amoeba down there? It killed a child down there, his parents were doing a birthday party slip and slide for him and used their garden hose and the brain parasite made it into his body from the garden hose into his nose.  He went into a coma and passed away.  Very sad story.

  6. Yes I have a six stage filter too.  The one I heard about was 1,4- Dioxane.

Can’t wait for drinking out of the garden hose when the weather warms up as I’m washing my car or watering the plants

  7. Just checked the weather for the week coming up. 40s and 50s all week. Pack it in, it’s over. Wednesday’s snow felt great, last one until December

Not the worst thing. I can’t wait to work in my yard and see my boys’ baseball season begin.

  8. Maybe I worded it wrong.  NJ will have more than 10 tornadoes.  I'd be shocked at only 4.

Frightening either way. Does an El Niño or La Niña pattern impact tornado chances, or is it too random or specific to a point in time? (I think May is our highest chances at seeing tornadoes in New Jersey, if I recall correctly)

  9. I'm confident (though not certain) that you know less about fire prevention than experts whose job it is to know. The issue is likely a lot more complex than you indicate.

…wasn’t the fire chief in L.A. just fired this week for not doing enough to prepare for fires?

  10. Funny how in dry years like 2002 we didn't have fires and now for some reason we do.  Like I have said before, we have had overgrowth because of many years of too much rain, that growth needs to be cut off and removed.

New Jersey does a lot wrong, but does fire prevention well. California shows what happens when you add fuel from what could be preventable (brush and forest management) to what isn’t preventable (dryness, winds, sparks) and can get conflagrations that impact people and property.

  11. it's hard for ASOS thermometers to be wrong, unless it's a siting issue.  Their temperatures (winter and summer) are very similar to mine, if anything it's a little warmer here in the summer especially.

    What does ASOS mean?

  12. Plenty of places to live without seasons. Phoenix being a popular destination without humidity and clouds! Also still close to epic skiing.

I didn’t intend to single you out; more so, people just enjoy complaining with like-minded people. Hope that makes sense.

  13. How do people on here not enjoy nice cold mornings? You feel invigorated when you take that deep breath in. Very weird how once we get to February some are just like naw let's torch. Spring is our most miserable season here from super hot to cold to many many days of cloudy and gloom with mist and 40 degrees. I'm an extreme guy give me winter and summer. I'm glad Killington's snowiest month is March and they are already ahead of Park City for snowfall this year. I think I need to move further north.

    Misery loves company.
