    Down to freezing now.

Seeing widespread upper 20s for NJ and with the growing season 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule it's a pretty impactful freeze.

    ...I got down to 32.2 *

..KFOK unbelievably got down to 22*.

..i did have some lettuce and spinach planted..glad i covered them last nite.

One thing to watch for the coast is the wind direction. It’s going to be tuff to get temps low enough for accumulations until the wind goes North. I’m thinking 1-2” at home on the south shore and 3-5” at work on the far UWS where I’ll be posting from.
Be careful using snow maps as your source for QPF and where banding sets up. There is more further East that could be shown as rain that may actually be snow

...yeah..i'm thinking 1-2" here also..all about wind direction for us..

    but 2 things..

where does the deformation band set up?

and the upper level low seems to be diving further south and east..colder?..just a observation..

Westhampton is the big offshore flow heat leader so far at 93.

..i'll confirm that..even right down to the beach..got down to the beach around 1030am

with a gusty west wind..that 'dry front' passed, winds went NW and it felt like a furnace..then about

2 hours later wind kicked around to the SW and you immediately felt the cooling effects of a wind off the water.

that lasted maybe an hour..then back to a NW wind and the furnace was back on..strange day at the

    beach with numerous wind shifts.

Coastal water temps are rocketing with the light winds and sun the last few days. When the wind stays below 20 knots it really allows the top 3 feet of water warm up.

    ...yeah,noticed it yesterday(wed)..water is no longer 'numbing'..quite refreshing..maybe mid to upper 60's.

beautiful beach day..noticed a lot of clouds west of me..so decided to head east to ponquoque beach in hampton bays.

turned out clearing pushed west and turned out mostly sunny..what surprised me is the wind was pretty light

out of the south all day..pretty rare to have a day with no real sea breeze kicking in.

Nice fight right now near jones beach with the sea breeze.  In last few minutes we had wind go 180 for a few minutes then back to 310 now back to 230-250 or so

...yeah..noticed that too..out here in west hampton dunes, sea breeze kicked in around 3pm..was kinda surprised as

the NNW wind stayed busy all day..in fact the NWS discussion on sunday morning made me chuckle.."the weather question

of the day is IF the sea breeze will develop in the afternoon"..

72F clouds and sun in Wading River.

    This weather is delightful.

If I never felt the humidity I felt yesterday all summer long...I would be happy.

...clouds hanging tough..you can see the clearing the further north you go..beach goers hoping that high pressure

wins out...clouds and rain not that far off to our south.
