Wow I don’t understand why the radar would have that. And the weather app states that’ it’s snowing in the Bronx. Any Mets care to let us know what would cause that false return?

I'm not a met but there's a huge fire at Elmwood Park NJ in a paper factory. The smoke from it must be picking up on radar. The weather app probably uses the radar to find the type of precipitation instead of observations from weather stations.

Weather the last 10 years is like going to a baseball game.  Something new happens every time.  The odds of me witnessing another lunar eclipse in < 10 degree below windchill are probably pretty low.

Down to 6 in the past hour here.   The disparity between the temps here and the temps N&W seems less than I'm used to.

It’s likely because the howling NW winds prevented radiational cooling there, but helped the city cool down by bringing in air not affected by the heat island

Thanks!  Yeah, I can imagine having a good spreadsheet with that kind of data would be invaluable for quickly checking climo/records.  Have you ever talked to the NWS about sharing it?  I wish they provided data like that.

There is a lot of historical data available at the ACIS website, here: http://scacis.rcc-acis.org/. There are lots of cool features like the accumulation graph which shows how our year's rainfall has compared to other years.

Let’s just ban that awul word.

Hes talking about teleconnections. Tellies sounds like he’s talking about the telletubbies

That would be great, tellies sounds very weird and I don’t like it... maybe we can say Tconns if really short on time or just say teleconnections.

It looks like it will become warmer and then it will become cool again around 11/27 or 11/28. I don’t think we’ll see any more snow this month but I think that 12/3 to 12/10 is a time to watch.

i am a little past the upper east side the streets are snow covered and the sidewalks as  well..posters who are in the harlem area will vouch  what i say is 100% correct...

Where I am in Upper Manhattan no surfaces were spared. On the parts where no cars went there around around 3 inches of snow on the roads, and I measured about 5-5.5 inches on grassy areas.
