  1. I have about an inch of snow since 1:00 P.
  2. I think you may end up being pleasantly surprised a little later.
  3. In other words, you should be looking at the short range models now verses the Globals when your this close into the storm.
  4. Think of it this way. One of the models will end up being much closer to the ground truth when all is said and done. The other models will bow to it.
  5. Your spiking the ball way too early.
  6. Your one of the biggest weenies I've ever met.
  7. A little aggressive to say the least. Haven't seen the forecast offices focusing on that or taking it literally.
  8. 16"- 24" of snow is expected for NYC, northeast NJ, the Lower Hudson Valley, much of Nassau, and portions of southwest CT. 6"- 12" of snow for eastern Long Island and southeastern CT (lower amounts here due to potential for wintry mix or changeover to rain). Strong winds and low visibility with accumulating snow will make travel very difficult to impossible. Finally, widespread minor to moderate coastal flooding; locally major impacts possible Monday night.
  9. Hope so my friend, I could see that possibly happening when all is said and done.
  10. Yes, right now it is. I'm talking a little later as the storm gets closer.
  11. Watch, sleet will mix there. They are right on the water.
  12. Just starting to watch the NAM 12K right now to see if there are any more changes.
  13. I hope your correct but this purple mix area seems to want to show up before any dry slots
  14. Be careful, the model may be counting some of the sleet as snow. Based on the latest HRRR. I just don't know how much is being counted. It will be close.
  15. The HRRR seems to be a better model to use right now for since it appears many are nowcasting. But it does define the mix line well.
  16. Something really doesn't look correct with the Canadian Model. Definitely on its' own.
  17. COOP's actually measure it just before the storm total stops accumulating or every 24 hours depending on the duration of the storm. That's the true rules of the COOP Weather Observers Guidelines.
