I was fishing the conewago creek not to far from pinchot park at the onset of the snow tonight. It started at a good clip out there made the roads a little dicey earlier. Musky must be on fire caught my first ever two winter muskies while I was wallye fishing just at the onset of the snow . Still snowing here in fairview township. After a moderate start Its been very light here nonstop from the last several hours im probably closing in on 1.5" looks like it should end with another hour or two mod snow coming in now I think I am going to do well here tonight

I did come up a little over half inch short of three inches on saturdays event . I was out all night sat/sun and ended up with a toothache of a life time that is still kicking my ass. I need to get some dental work done on friday so I might end up on the couch this weekend with a bottle of 7/325 or hopefully lost in the snowy woods with an empty bottle and missing teeth .

The radar broke things up over top of me for a little it never quit snowing though its was light for a few hours. back to mod for about the last 45 minutes I got my three I think. heading back out after a late dinner.

Nice mod snow here probaly nearing .25" and feeling good. bonfire is week though wood is wet and frozen to its core this year. I never had much of a doubt about it. Mother nature was telling us for the last week it was coming. There are other ways than just computers. Computers give good hints of when to pay attention and heighten your sense.

My son and I went for a walk looking north and did manage to catch a few far of flashes thought we herd thunder but it turns out the lightning was somewhere between state game lands 210 and state game lands 264 so I doubt I herd the thunder but its winter so maybe. Lightningmaps.org only seams to get about 90% of the strikes so maybe it was closer. I think even the spc was caught off gard at how unstable the environment got today. It send shivers down the back of my paints and turns my palms all rosie. Im getting hot for the weekend.

I have seen lightning in January 4 times in my life and evrey time i saw it we got a winter storm a few days after. Last time a saw lightning in January was the Squall that proceeded the 2016 storm . I didn't see any yet tonight but I know its out there I will head out soon hope to see a few flashes . I think todays convection is a good vibe for the weekend

looks like a few may see some unexpected flakes this morning . I see some SS forming on radar along the warm front in sw Pa. moveing ENE. Its light may not be getting to the ground. We now also will be under an advisory tonight for some ice may be even some flakes. Hope the 14th pans out. Looks like winter is starting to try to make a come back.

looked to me like one of the cells was showing rotation about 45 mins ago. it was no blip 6 but looked like authentic rotation to me for a few frames.

The temp is 62 here in Newcumberland. it went for 38 at 7:30 to 56 by around 11:30 hit 60 somewhere around 3:30 4:00 am. It stopped raining a few times here allowing me to get the dog out for a few warm late night Pre Christmas walks. Wouldn't be supersized to here a rumble of thunder today . I hope Jan -Feb and 10 days of march Are epic. Asking The Big Guy for A big Feb 18 Storm for my 40th B- Day .

it has changed back and forth here a few times in the past 45 mins and is mixied at the moment but mosly snow now at a good clip looks like it may quit here for 15 20 mins then a good 2hour or more finish . Im not 100% it was 39a but it was one of are exits in fairview township and many people ended up on 114 in fairview/lewisberry or are back roads where there trips ended. There getting things cleared up on some back roads but still many people off the roads waiting for help or a tow. I saw on the local news fairview township police where offering rides to a free shelter and giving out water to people that can wait it out in there cars. Again this was earlier I don't know how it is out there now. I will probably take a walk down to the 39a rutters for a can of chewing death when and if the wrap around gets here. I will report back If I can still keep my eyes open.

lol they did. I just talked to my friend that lives in Lisburn. He helped dig out and sold his shovel to a guy that was directed off Exit 39a. Trying to find his why from york back to Lykens he ended up stuck and lost in my friends front yard in Lisburn. . I here things are starting to move along now.

Here in fairview township I83 was, maybe still is closed. Penndot redirected off the highway onto are hilly winding crazy back roads we have out here with no detour routes set up. We have people out here stuck and lost here on 114 Fairview township from Philly Lebanon and other place stuck and lost. What a mess they put these folks in you have to know where you are going to drive out here.

I have a felling it may be one of those years. It looks to be active this year hope we all can get the good tracks and big domes . cad to all and big jugs this year.
