Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the multitude of good wishes-it means a lot and touches my heart! We were watching a movie around 12:30AM when out of nowhere I got lightheaded and experienced severe vertigo. I also got nauseous and thought I was having a heart attack even though I didn’t have much chest pain. On the way to the emergency room my wife had to pull over twice for me to vomit. Got to the emergency department and kept barfing. EKG, cardiac enzymes, brain ct and mri were normal, stress test normal-still occupying the barfarama. Neurologist wanted to ensure it was not a stroke that occurred. The strange thing is I did the stress test around 2 and wondered for the life of me how I was going to do it with nausea but as I worked out the nausea disappeared-no idea why! Neurologist thinks it may be inner ear problem but honestly once the big stuff is ruled out it’s an educated guess.
Waiting to be discharged and wondering what caused the symptoms-even got a Covid test which was negative. I’m tired-slept maybe 1 hour last night and dozed a bit today.
I am so touched by the outpouring here-I love our wx community!
One more thing-this threat isn’t dead! I’m not scoring the models until verification time. Hopefully it happens! I like how cold Canada is-we’ll get ours soon!
Great news! I had something similar and it ended up being labyrinthitis. A viral infection of the inner ear. No joke! Get well Jerry!

Looks like over the past few hours it's been moving due west with even a possible wobble to the south. Wonder how long it will keep that up.
Don’t these strong storms sometimes pump the ridge. Maybe it’s a temporary movement but it does look like due west heading last few hours.

Well just No to this trend

Would there be some rotating cells in that band south of RI? Looks worrisome!

This one is going to be fun to track! A huge major hurricane which hopefully avoids Bermuda and Atlantic Canada. Let’s rack up some ACE!
-
Really looks like it’s slowing down to possibly turn more northward. Maybe just a wobble but would have implications for New Orleans.

The best part of Tropical Storm Henri was tracking it! The actually storm was a huge bust here. Next!

Recon is descending into operational altitude. Should be interesting!

It’s amazing just following this storm with all of it’s challenges with forecasting track, strength and hazards that might come into play. It’s why I love this hobby! With all the technological advances we’ve made to help forecast weather, there are just so many variables that come into play that still keep it an imperfect science. I just love the challenges that come with it!

What happened to Henri? Seems like as soon as they declared Henri a hurricane he has degraded ever since. Maybe he can juice up during dimax but there’s not much moisture in the storm right now.

Is the left hook prior to landfall still on the table? Latest GFS guidance suggests the ULL that would help turn Henri to the west prior to landfall is weakening. Any thoughts?

This doesn't get said enough: thank you for all your input here.
Yes! Although I don’t post often I recognize the dedication he has shown to this forum . Kudos.

Does the west trend stop? Does Henri “shuffle” east? Who gets whacked, New York or New Haven? Can anyone trust the NAM? This and more tonight on AMWX (Queue breaking news music…)
I was just thinking the same thing! You almost always get that tick east but this storm is a whole different ballgame with all the dynamics in play

Curious to see what NHC does at 11 with the track but I would think we see a sizable shift west with the western edge of the cone and subsequent shift west with forecast track
I was thinking a shift west to the Cape Cod Canal

18z ICON is just ugly. Stronger and looks to stall and rake SE Mass and RI coastline
-
Wonder if the 5pm NHC track stays the same?

Those tornadoes killed more than 50 people down south. Such a horrible situation for those folks down there, especially this time of year.
