Hi, new here and following this closely due to being in North GA.

Just heard on scanner for Crisp which is under tornado emergency that per NWS event is large wedge with satellite, also Sumter is not reporting any injuries.

WOW. You don't hear that every day! Unfortunately no good photos will probably come out of this because they'll be rain-wrapped. :(

So Louisiana Governor just told people to shelter under overpasses in a press conference.

    OMG

One of the impressive things about today was how "crowded" all the activity was and yet most of the cells still managed to fire off.

LWX has done a good job at splitting counties for WW watches and warnings...they need to do the same for N-NW PG and AA Counties.  I mean, the N-NW portions of those counties stand just as good a chance to get warning criteria given their location relative to the fall line.

What's up with the blank gap for Fredericksburg?  Are we going to be in some bizarre sweet spot that doesn't get anything?

Line split from 66 to Rt. 37, as usual.  Got strong wind gusts and a few sprinkles that couldn't even wet the ground.  Another miserable fail.

  5. Days like this I really miss TWC. It was always hilariously overhyped but it was good background noise to listen to when I was in weather mode. Accuweather looks like it's being televised from a local elementary school on a budget of popsicle sticks.

Very windy even with clear skies here. When a good convective burst comes through, it'll translate more of those winds to the surface. I'm looking forward to this.

You can now thank me instead of hate me for moving from Louisiana.

I was about to say bring us your hurricanes but then I remembered what N Gulf hurricanes looked like and I decided you can keep them.

3 KM NAM nest (which will replace the 4km NAM nest in a few weeks) has a thin but fairly good looking line moving through early Saturday afternoon

My mom keeps mentioning how she's reading about tornadoes on Saturday but that looks much more like a plain straight-line wind threat.
