Why does the forecast for next week looking less chilly by the day?
I'm from Rochester, NY and the forecast from few days ago and today shows still the same to me for next week. Maybe it's different form where you are from?

The cold blast behind that looks even more impressive.
Signs of harsh winter coming for NY this winter, hopefully!

Will BUF (or ROC and SYR for that matter) receive more than 0.1 inch of rain before October? Current modeling says maybe not.
Please no so that way I don't have to mow the lawn for rest of the year

I bought my house for 160k last year, it officially got appraised at 190k a few weeks ago. Crazy market.
With economy going back to normal in few years, your house will be back to where it was unless you want to sell it now to make some profit It's good time to refinance right now, I did mine last week 15 years for 2.15% and only have to pay $850 monthly (included taxes and insurance) - GOOD DEAL!

It's $300 a week, only $400 if states throw in $100, FEMA only has enough for 3-4 weeks, going to be up to Congress for any extended benefits..

And now it says "pre application" Which was "not paid " earlier.

Now it's finally applied so we will be getting $300 weekly soon. Huge advantage for people who got their hours reduced like me. Can't wait! So excited. Do you know how long it will last? Until December?

Yeah I don't think NYS has any money to provide the extra $100 per week. But I'll take the $300, would help out a lot while she job searches.
Hopefully $300 will qualify for people who got their hours reduced like I did with $600 weekly.
-
When are we getting $400 unemployment weekly? This is ridiculous, 19 states already approved for it and NY is not one of them yet. My work hours got reduced back in May where I have to work 4 days a week instead of 5 days. It was nice getting extra $600 weekly since it lasted when I only have to miss 1 day of work. I'm hoping for the same when it comes to $400 weekly.

We tried to tell ‘em lol
If you’re taking the surface depiction of these operational models to heart you’ll get burned in this setup. The Pacific activity via the MJO/CCKW make those models project certain parts of the Atlantic look more hostile than they may actually be. The impulses are there and are running toward a more favorable environment.
Nothing is a lock yet and this isn’t even really the start of the more prolific activity IMO, but August isn’t going quietly. This season has actually been pretty impressive in how consistent the activity has been. That’s part of the reason I raised my seasonal forecast to 25/13/6.
I'm sorry but I'm newbie but what does 25/13/6 means? Does it mean 25 name storms / 13 hurricanes / 6 major hurricanes?

Weather channel just issued fall outlook for northeast and it doesn't look good. Above average from September to November. We had above average in June to August, when will we ever see normal average or below average, tired of this heat already.

Fall above normal? Say it ain't so. Pretty soon that will just be the normal fall temps with all the warm ones we have had.
and we will have below average in spring (March-May) which is the new normal for us in the northeast.

Dang man you should be trying to shorten that term not lower the payment. I’m trying to see if I can get a 10 year right now.
That is a killer rate though.Exactly! 30 years is a waste of time. I'm keeping an eye on 15 years rate, right now it's at 2.4%, i'm going to wait couple of weeks of it continues to go lower.

It's time to hit the reset button: Shut it down and restart. That's what more than 150 health professionals are urging government leaders in an open letter published earlier this week.
"Tell the American people the truth about the virus, even when it’s hard. Take bold action to save lives — even when it means shutting down again," the letter, spearheaded by the nonprofit U.S. Public Interest Research Group, says.
Public health leaders argue in the letter that the U.S. reopened too quickly, nonessential businesses should close again, Americans should mostly stay home, and government officials need to invest more in testing, contact tracing, and personal protective equipment capacities.
If you don’t take these actions, the consequences will be measured in widespread suffering and death," according to the letter addressed to President Donald Trump, federal officials and governors.
Yes we need to do national lockdown for 4 weeks, look at other countries, they are doing so well.
