Snowing here (SE NH), since about 8:30, 31, big flakes. Ground covered, pavement just wet.

Dan,
Always good to hear from you! How do you like that area of NH? I am asking because my wife and I have been looking at homes in So NH....
I love it up here. Ocean is not too far away. Not a far drive to the mountains or the airports.
Snow has not been kind up here nor the severe weather. Very happy to be out of Mass

most forecasts for this area were 18-24..
A little less in SE NH. 12-18”. Tho I am sitting at 5”. Definitely a busy here unless there is some
Crazy westward shift. But I don’t see it

My brother lives in Brentwood right of 111 near the Exeter River. He says maybe 4" at his house.
Very unimpressive. Just not piling up. Wind is fantastic but nothing more. I’m just south of 111A and the Exeter river. Right next to the Fremont line

Not to distract from the endless Covid talk but I had a pretty cool weather day. Today was a travel say from the Black Hills to Cody, WY. When we left SD it was cool and damp. It rained on and off for a part of the way to Buffalo, WY and temps were in the low 60’s. I did not research the road between Buffalo and Cody though and did not realize it is actually called the Cloud Peak Scenic Skyway. https://travelwyoming.com/listings/cloud-peak-skyway-scenic-byway
This road was spectacular and that was in pretty heavy rain. It tops out at 9666’ in the Powder River Pass and then goes down through the Ten Sleeps Canyon. On top the car thermo read 40° and there was graupel mixed with rain at times. The peaks around the pass still had patches of snow, I thought of your dog PF. On the other side we went through a huge stretch of arid, empty land and the temp got up to 83°. We are in Cody now and will do some exploring tomorrow. Wyoming is crazy and we haven’t even gotten to Yellowstone or the Tetons yet.
That sounds awesome. There are some great roads out here to travel. Have a great rest of your trip, we had back home tomorrow.

Yesterday at the Custer State Park welcome center I had a guy ask me if I had seen any cars with NH plates. He was keeping track of all the different states he’d seen and hadn’t seen one yet.
On a weather note, it was pretty warm yesterday, our car thermo hit 104° on the way to the Badlands. We also saw some good lightning but skirted around the main part of a decent storm near Rapid City.
We came into Custer on the east side of the park around 8:45 yesterday. All the Buffalo were on the south side
Yeah we had a storm pop on top of us late last night nothing crazy but had some good thunder and lightning. We are sitting at 4300 feet and have a good view of the north west looking into Aladdin and belle fourche

I saw 2 cars with Mass plates today and wondered if either was you. One was a silver Fusion on the Needles highway and the other was Suburban pulled over looking at som bison.
We actually live in NH now so have those plates. We did do needles today. That was incredible.

Me too. We start the drive this afternoon. Not looking to run into that though.
Wasn’t too bad. But pretty cool. Safe driving

29 Hour drive for us but not sure if I want to go that way or fly, which is a PIA and rent as car.
My wife wanted to fly but I just didn’t want to deal with it. Plus not many direct flights to rapid city. I don’t mind the drive myself. Will drive about 20
-24 hours in the first stint. Take a night do sleep and finish on Saturday.

I've just been booking stays out in S. Dakota and Wyoming for my upcoming vacation. My son and I are leaving next Friday and driving out west to spending some time around Mt. Rushmore and then heading over to Yellowstone. We'll spend 2-3 days poking around the park but we probably won't see
halfa quarter of what there is. After that, we are heading back east. I would really love to see the Canadian border open so we can go back through the UP of Michigan and Ontario.
We are leaving on the night of the 17th to head out to South Dakota ourself. We are renting a house in Spearfish at the base of Crow Peak. We are driving out as well. Going to hit Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, badlands, etc.
We were supposed to go last year but cancelled because of covid.
About a 30 hour drive for us. Hope to get there by Saturday the 19th in the afternoon. Staying until the 26th.

0.89” here. Northern fringe but it’s all good. It’s a good drink nonetheless
