Light snow in Annapolis

Kuchera numbers for both DC and Baltimore went down on both 12k and 3k unless I'm completely missing something... Not saying it's bad just not understanding how it's anything but worse
-
18z ICON improved significantly as well even if it still doesn't look as good as other guidance, it keeps up the trend.
It brings .5 from northern neck all the way up to DCA's doorstep

Just now, Bob Chill said:
Nope. After Jan 2016 where I danced on the razor thin line with the heavies I'll gladly cheer on a DC jack.
That was directed at Ji

One would think LWX has to put up an area-wide WWA soon... maybe after 18Z guidance?

So how long before the GEM stops teasing us?

Pretty incredible that a system off the coast of California can mess up snow chances here...
-
In the end the GFS was a wetter run after the low transfers

Can someone explain to me high-level how the operational run differs from an ensemble control member? Is it just higher resolution or does it get different inputs?
-
The .5 line went from DCA down to EZF... tough run
-
66 looks much more organized coming across the plains compared to 12z... snow into southern Wisconsin compared to central Indiana
EDIT: 72 MUCH improved precip shield...

Was nice getting hit with some frozen bits walking back from lunch in Bowie... at first I was thinking it was just really cold rain and then something bounced off my jacket.

I really liked the "dying of thirst but only willing to drink Fiji" analogy used yesterday... its really ringing true. We were all ready to basically punt until late Jan just a week to a week-and-a-half ago and now some are upset over 2-4 to usher in a pattern change. It amazes me how fast some go from beggars to choosers. We all want a MECS/HECS but we also all know they are really rare around here. A couple of 2-4's is a climo winter around here.

I Would be pretty bent if I had gone 3 weeks without pay and no end in sight.
I would too but it would suck if the storm thread was filled with that conversation... It was looking like it was going that way for a min.

Sooner or later someone is going to get butthurt about the shutdown jokes... and it will turn into a poltiical debate.

28 and just about 2" even in Glen Burnie on elevated surfaces like my truck's tonneau cover. Quiet, glowing... Only sounds are the crunch beneath my feet and the fatties hitting my coat hood. Beautiful out.
