    April 2nd-3rd severe weather outbreak

We are racing home trying to beat the storms in. Don't want to be on the road from SC to GA tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jan 6-8 Winter Storm Observations

Cumming, Ga (Post Road/Highway 9) Crazy how it keeps flipping back and forth between great big flakes and a sleet/snow mix.

    Jan 6-8 Winter Storm Observations

Cumming, GA (Highway 9/Post Road) we have changed from moderate snow back to sleet. Some of the snow has melted off the cement but not the raised surfaces. Sleet is constant. Wondering if we will change back over to snow.

    Winter Storm 1/6 - 1/8, 2017

Is this system moving through faster than originally thought or are the current models showing extended event in Atlanta?

Well now we are at snow/sleet mix with HUGE flakes. Already sticking due to the sleet we had received. Much earlier than forecast! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    February 25th-26th Winter Storm OBS

What you guys upstream from us are describing is almost identical to what was going on here in N GA this afternoon. Huge wonderful flakes while we were 33.1 and then straight rain when we finally feel to 32. It was one wild storm. I think we are looking at freezing rain now. Hopefully we will not get much!

    Feb 25-26 Discussion/pbp

From Peachtree City: Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia 846 PM EST Wednesday Feb 25 2015 Update... major changes to the forecast for this winter storm. 00z ffc sounding showed a very deep warm layer over ffc from around 915 mb to 675 mb...or about over 7000 feet thick. This was being advected northward ahead of the surface low that was over southern MS along the Gulf Coast. 18z GFS showed the 850mb 0c degree isotherm holding from near Cedartown to Canton to Gainesville through 06z. Then as the surface low pulls off to our southeast...the colder air is pulled southward. However as this happens the deepest moisture will be exiting from the west. At this time most of the snow has switched over to rain or freezing rain from Carrollton to Atlanta to Athens with snow continuing across extreme north Georgia. What is now expected to play out is a band of rain/freezing rain will remain nearly stationary from Cedartown to Canton to Gainesville through midnight...then switch over to snow or snow flurries before ending. From Carrollton to Atlanta to Athens...rain will continue through midnight...then switch over to a rain/snow mix...then finally flurries before ending later tonight. Precipitation will remain as rain from Franklin to Peachtree City to Madison until late tonight when there will be a brief switch over to rain/snow or flurries. Snow accumulations... very little...if any more additional snow is expected from Carrollton to Atlanta to Athens. An additional 2 to 3 inches of snow is possible across extreme north Georgia Ice accumulations...up to a tenth of an inch of ice is possible through midnight from Cedartown to Canton to Gainesville. A glaze to 05 inch of ice is possible from northern Carroll County to northern Fulton County to Athens. Black ice will be possible in all areas including from Franklin to peacthree city to Madison. The Winter Storm Warning will be cancelled from Franklin to Peachtree City to Madison. However a Special Weather Statement will be issued for black ice for tomorrow morning due to residual water on the roads that could freeze late tonight and early Thursday morning. The Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect for the remaining areas due to either snow...freezing rain...sleet...and black ice.

    February 25th-26th Winter Storm OBS

That's crazy because where I am it's 31.5. I would think we would at least be looking at freezing rain with our temps.

    Feb 25-26 Discussion/pbp

I am so confused at the dynamics of this system. I am in S. Forsyth county and we are at 32.4 and having rain. Are we still expected to have this turn back over to snow or are we expected to stay rain?

Beautiful HUGE flakes here now. In a matter of minutes the ground was covered and the roads are now having snow stick on them.

    February 16th - February 17th Snow/Ice Storm OBS

Crazy.... we are just now getting above freezing in our neck of the woods (32.6)...so much for getting into the 40's. We still have lots of ice on trees, especially the wimpy pines. Hope it gets a chance to melt before tomorrow's winds. It has to come off at some point right?

    February 16th - February 17th Snow/Ice Storm OBS

Located on the corner of Forsyth/Cherokee/Fulton... high today was 33 and over the last hour we have dropped to 30.7. It is raining but a light coating of ice is forming on anything metal and on the trees. My forecast (according to wunderground) is for temps to rise over the next few hours. Our winds are currently out of the NE or ENE.
