One of the tricks it may be up to, is Lee are notorious for being under modeled 6+ hours out on precip. If it hangs around as CAMs suggest tonight, could be interesting for everyone.
When is the Lee side low supposed to form?

Just measured here in West Knox…we have right at 6” and snowing maybe the hardest it has all day!

Thank you for posting. How does that compare with the previous model run? Specifically orientation of storm and qpf.
-
To be honest, I’d rather not have MRX on board. We tend to get our best snows when they decide to put out adversaries after we already have several inches of snow on the ground.

Alex, I’ll take 30 or 31 please!

So has the storm sped up? Last night we were looking at Mon/Tues. Are we now looking Sun/Mon?
-
On the go right now, accumulations still in the 4”+ range for East TN on that run?

@John1122is it still the 16th or has it sped up to the 15th? I’m supposed to be flying back home to Knox on the 15th and want to make sure I get home in time!

I always get confused on the weather model times. What time of day would this potentially hit?

I don’t 100% remember the year but I remember what you are talking about. Atlanta was a disaster that afternoon.
.I love it Powell…you’re the historian that always remembers the events, but not the date/year. It’s like me with people. I can remember faces, but I’m pretty terrible with names! Lol!

GfS is a western jog as expected. Given the fact we have 5 days left about the only place I'd be feeling good about is western Illinois/mizzou.
Not seeing the western jog. Looks East to me

It’s pretty interesting that it takes the Low from Central GA at 126 almost due north to London, KY at 132. That would be an unusual progression/pathway

I created a thread for the cold and potential snow for this event. Hopefully it will all pan out and we all get clobbered, but the cold looks legit across all models regardless if the snow comes or not.
Hopefully, you don’t have any jinx powers…lol!

I’m looking at the wrong run because I’m an idiot. Apologies.
Happens to all of us! No problem!

Looks like the second system (26th-27th)is setting up nicely with that run too.
Unless I’m looking at the wrong run, the 26-27th look dry and cold to me

Euro Control is suppressed and cold with a system that actually gives the Northern Gulf Coast states a decent snowfall.
I’ll take my chances with that at this range!

Just measured right under 10” in West Knox. It has stopped snowing here for now.
