  1. Yeah I was outside running, and had just enough time to complete the run. It got bad out there about 5 minutes after I got back to the house. When I went out to run I figured we'd get hit closer to 6pm, but as you said a new line formed almost on top of us while the line that was going to hit us later fell apart. Man the summer storms in our area are becoming more and more intense.
  2. Wow, INSANE storm. The sound of hail pounding against the house was something else. Some of the hail was dime sized. I ran outside to get some to put in the freezer. We got 1 inch of rain in a very short period of time. A bunch of very close lightning strikes. 60 to 70 mph wind gusts which I'm sure caused quite a bit of damage. When I was outside I could hear lots of sirens all around. We had a couple power hits here but both times the power came back on very quickly. Thankful to have power. My internet was out for awhile which is why it took me this long to respond to you. Even now it's very slow. I'm glad to hear that you have power. That was one heck of a storm.
  3. That very brief but intense downpour dropped a quick 0.15" here.
  4. Yeah tiny cell popped up almost on top of me. Came down in buckets for a few minutes and a couple close lightning strikes.
  5. I'm watching the lightning from that storm that's missing us to the northwest.
  6. Heaviest missed a few miles to the east like has happened several times recently. I got 0.17" from that downpour.
  7. Decent downpour here right now.
  8. Looks like the heavy stuff is going to the west into Hunterdon County.
  9. We needed what happened over the last month to pull out of the drought. Glad it happened even though it wasn't nice weather at times.
  10. Might see a downpour this afternoon -- a decent amount of activity popping up to the south and moving north.
  11. Right now the timing looks good with a cold front coming through on Tuesday, which would mean good weather on Wednesday. Hopefully this will hold and we'll have nice clear conditions for the peak of the meteor shower next Wednesday night.
  12. Just had another little downpour here with that line that got me up to 1.47" for the day. It appears that's about it. Perfect amount of rain here -- a very good soaking for the garden, but not enough to cause flooding.
  13. I'm not sure why people question the drought. The drought monitor maps have shown that much of the area has been in a moderate ro severe drought the last couple years. I know because I've had to water the vegetable garden so much the last 2 seasons with the very dry ground. Thankfully things turned around in July and it continues now at the start of August. El Nino to the rescue it appears.
  14. Wow. I had to water the garden constantly before July due to the super dry pattern -- we were in a severe drought for awhile. Thankfully it turned around in July. Now a good start in August -- glad to get 1.32" so far today.
  15. 1.32" here so far. Glad to get a good soaking after my area missed out last week.
