It feels terrible out there right now. I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather for Friday and the weekend.
I see GFS is showing a major cold shot for us at the end of the month. Hopefully it's wrong -- long range so who the heck knows.
Still just 40 degrees here. We're not gonna get anywhere near the forecast high temps today with the cloudy skies and east winds. A nasty raw day today.
Already 60 here. Should see upper 60s later today, and I'm looking forward to 70s the next few days. We deserve some warm weather now after the very cold winter.
In addition to tomorrow's snow, we still have to watch Tuesday for the snow changing to rain event. I see 18z RGEM actually gives us a pretty good hit of snow Tuesday morning. The cold air is moving out on Tuesday, but we can get an inch or two if it starts early enough in the morning.
It appears that the Tuesday wave is going to stay intact, but the problem is the cold air is moving out. The question is how much snow, if any, will we get before it changes to rain. Today's GFS gives us a little front end snow.
Yeah it's obvious now that Monday is going to be suppressed to the south and shredded. Our hope to get a little accumulating snow is Tuesday, but of course the problem Tuesday is the cold air is moving out. So that looks like a mix storm with snow changing to rain. We need the Tuesday wave to come in early in the morning like last night's Euro showed. If that happens we can get a couple inches of snow before it changes to rain.
The Euro AIFS is good with the Monday wave and gives us a few inches of snow during the day. On the regular Euro the Monday wave falls apart, but it gives us a snow changing to rain event on Tuesday. Obviously the models are very confused. It'll be awhile be we know what's going to happen.
