Looks like nice extended summer next week. Still no real heat coming, but highs probably in the low 80s here all next week.

Very heavy downpour with gusty winds and some thunder. It dropped 0.55" here. I was in Shoprite when it happened. After checking out I waited in the store for it to pass (about 10 minutes) before walking out to the car. I'm glad we're finally getting some rain. Between this and Thursday night over an inch here, and we should see some more tonight. Hopefully this will give the vegetable garden a nice late season boost.

Made it to 87 here today. Could see 90 tomorrow if the storms don't come in too early. I see 0z HRRR hits this area hard. Looks like an interesting day for potential severe and flash flooding.

A few small downpours did come through here after midnight. I'm up to 0.62" for the event now. Pretty good.

I got 0.38" here. Obviously not enough to bust the developing drought, but at least it was enough to give things a desperately needed watering. I didn't water the vegetable garden today in hopes that we'd get enough rain tonight, so thankfully it happened.

Absolutely pouring right now. Haven't seen rain like this in many weeks. Thank goodness.

Coming down moderately right now. A few flashes of lightning to the west and it appears that it will be pouring here very soon. Hopefully a much needed watering for the garden coming.

I've been watching the football, but just took a peek at radar and am pleased to see the downpour in Somerset county that's on track to hit our area shortly.

Nice, but I'm jealous. I would've loved to get that much for the garden. Here I had a moderate shower that dropped only 0.06". I see on radar that there is more scattered activity coming in from PA so hopefully we'll get more.

Finally a little heat and humidity Friday into Saturday, but what a stretch of weather after that. Behind the front it's going to be a long period of cool comfortable weather. It's going to be great weather next week, but boy do we need rain. The chance of rain Friday into Saturday doesn't look impressive.

Your initial comment was correct. I work up a big sweat when I run in 35 degrees. If you're actually running instead of walking and it's an extended period of time, you're going to sweat profusely no matter what the temperature is. Anyway today was spectacular weather. It felt extremely comfortable with a high temp of 77 here.

Yeah 93 was the highest I got during that heat wave. It was impressive to be 90+ for 6 days in a row, but it was far from extreme heat. Also pretty impressive that we had only 1 hot week for the entire month of August and lots of low humidity days. July was brutal, but August has been a fairly comfortable month.

The dewpoint is all the way down to 49 here now, as we begin the long low humidity stretch. 86 degrees.

Yeah you know the heat will come back. It's too early for it to stay comfortable for the rest of the season. Euro and GFS both show 90 degree weather coming back around the 4th of September. I think we're done with the extreme 95 to 100 degree heat, but we'll see low 90s again. Before then though this is going to be a spectacular stretch of weather for the next 8 or 9 days.
