  1. I was surprised when NYC got there in 2016 - it took basically the perfect flow of cold air down the Hudson. For DC, all the snow around will help. But I will still be shocked if we get there.
  2. you can track the plows here https://citizeninsights.geotab.com/#/dcsnowgov
  3. how are folks' streets? We got plows all day so our streets are actually pretty clear (we live on a street corner)
  4. next thing to look for this week - does DC get below zero for the first time in 32 years?
  5. it's been a LONG time since we had a precip producer like this.
  6. Yeah - I'm at 6-7" of snow followed by 3-4" of sleet. This is going to stick around for a long long time.
  7. yea you are right - it was more like that
  8. not sure how other folks in the DMV are doing, but DC so far seems to have done a pretty good job with its "snow team". Every street in our neighborhood has seen a plow at least once.
  9. it also easily falls off non-flat surfaces (a roof, tops of cars, etc) so it piles up in those spots a ton
  10. it almost kind of feels like man-made snow at a ski resort
  11. as someone who remembers the several inches of sleet we got in PD2 in C'ville - this shit is not gonna melt for a long time. So that is the one plus side of sleet. The water content is much higher than snow lol.
  12. DFW reporting "heavy ice pellets" - not sure I've seen that one
  13. low of 8.6F here, DCA at 10F. Dewpoint got down to -13F (almost certainly the lowest since I've lived here). Right now 10/-11., Going to take a while to saturate that column lol
