Yea can confirm the 250 as its impacting Cheektowaga right now, we were missing out earlier with that 230 wind.
-
This is really looking good for the Metro area since most models don't have the band cranking till late tonight.

Relax...northtown crush job!!! Circa '85...been waiting 34 years for this again.
That southerly component though.. Fine I'll relax lol
-
Idk man the 12z hi-res models have a little more southerly component to the wind especially Canadian it has that band all the way up to southern Niagara..
-
IMO northtowns are gonna get smoked I mean we’re talking about a steady 240-250 flow for over 24hrs with little to no shear and decent moisture per BUFKIT profiles..

I’m not talking about Grand Island, or the Town of Tonawanda. I’m talking about near Northtowns - Kenmore, Amherst, Williamsville, Snyder. These are places that have have gotten LES events every couple of years in the past but now have seen a lake effect drought of 10+ years.
IMO areas like West side,Delaware park,Blackrock haven't really had that much of luck since that Oct'06 LES event, last night was a prime example as those same areas got shafted while areas north and east of them were cashing in..

Actually, a lot of people forget but the Northtowns did have a Major LES back in '10 courtesy of Lake Ontario!
QuoteNiagara Falls....31 inches
N. Tonawanda....26 inches
Kent....26 inches
Amherst (N)....19 inches
Tonawanda....14 inches

Dude unless I'm looking at something else that late Tues to early Thursday timeframe looks really good for LES, I mean the parameters on the BUFKIT are ridiculous lol.

Bufkit data looked really good..

OSU what are your thoughts on that LES potential mid next week?
-
FWIW we picked up another 6" here in Cheektowaga since 5pm, that brings the total since last night just a lil over a foot. Not bad at all!

I’m at a loss what just happened... the northern band is already showing on radar north of me??? It was maybe 10 minutes of flurries. Barely have a dusting back on my board.
.Transition Zone my friend..

Damm slow down LES band!! That thing is flying wow..

That band should move northward later this afternoon
Yep latest 3km man places it right over the metro area from 0z-05z before it dies down. Another 4-8” I’d estimate if we can get those decent rates we had last night.

Thunder snow being reported across the Southtowns..

The stretch of 90 from 298 in Syracuse All the Way pass Utica is being affected by the Lake Erie band, Imagine that! That's about a hundred and forty miles away from you guys in Buffalo and underneath that band it's probably snowing 2in/hr easy.

Gotta love high winds, ROC almost had a foot once from an Erie band!

Nice to wake up to a fresh 6 inches of snow, HI-RES models have a decent band again in the metro area from 0z-05z tonight before it dies down..

The 0z models have the band off by 20 miles at least since they started it at central erie rather than where it s at right now.
