Nationally even if this sub forum area stabilizes some cases aren't going to drop nationally if the biggest states plus places in the south and east coast keep spiking. Three states in particular are California, Florida and Texas. The pullback in CA was absolutely necessary, their trajectory right now is a bit scary (but still not bad per capita). West Texas is in the worst shape anywhere in the country. Multiple cities/counties are asking for temporary morgues, but they cant do a single thing locally to try to contain the situation.

NYC is a ticking time bomb.

We wouldn't have to be talking shutdowns if people acted more carefully.  The thing is you need almost everybody doing it at all times.  I don't know how you're going to get the public to buy in to shutdowns/stay at home again, especially around the holidays.

I went to the Dunes today and while I was driving through Chesterton, I saw some kind of concert going on with absolutely no social distancing and limited mask wearing. Just blows my mind how people can be like this.

I always felt growing up in Chicagoland we got shafted being on the eastern edge of a time zone because in the summer we’d have these early sunrises and “relatively” early sunsets. Works out better being further west in Iowa or Minnesota.

Yeah, I can't understand why anyone from Illinois would want DST. It would be terrible in the summer.

  4. If there are any more hard lockdowns, then there will be civil unrest. I just don't see it happening. Then again, I also see a 2nd American Revolution or Civil War occurring in the next six months... At some point, you will always have to choose caring for yourself at the expense of someone on their deathbed in a hospital. Unfortunately, we live in a country where that's neccessary. Maybe this is what people will fight for...

  5. We are a nation, even a world, at war. But the enemy is not in a far away land, it's all around us: In our workplaces, our shops, even our homes.

The only way we can win this war and avoid global catastrophe is through the way any war is won. We must do our civic duty and stay as isolated as possible. The worst days are ahead of us, as the graphic shows.
