Guessing that 60 years ago, the ground would be slushy-white all the way to the NW fringes of the cities. Now we are too warm for a car-topper. So...brown wet ground and leafless trees.

Lol I've hardly posted the past few weeks but okay. Feel free to use ignore if you don't like my great insight
If bull c*** = accumulating snow, I'd be pouring $5 a gal. gas into the snowblower.

I've had snow OCD for five decades or so. Sunrise cold, cold, unexpected 1/2" +/- is quite an unexpected treat. A rare positive forecast bust (sure LWX advertises this now but not so much during SB evening.) Just for the record, LWX is awesome.

COD radar site shows this little snowblob means biz. Can confirm 1/2 mile visibility for 20 minutes. Primary roads here are white, no traffic at this moment. Still cranking at 6:54 am.

Precise obs: 1 +/- miles east of Reisterstown: light snow, immediate stickage, very reduced visability.
total for two day: about 3.5". Cold AF. Somewhat shocking how visibility is down to about 1/2 mile.

Got to throw out the obligatory it’s too warm for snow. But then we get 2-4” anyway and people act surprised.
I'm Reisterstown-Glyndon. If we get 1 1/2', you get 3"

The NAM places two realistic patches of 2 to 3.
Could be grassy areas only with these warm roads.

We specialize in warm-wet and cold-dry. This winter in one word: freaking-boring-out-the-snow-weenie-wazoo.

TEASER. Light, fluffy pre-event flurries in calm air. Cold AF. Glyndon-Reisterstown.

The unshakable west track as of now is bad for coastal plain. Low level CAD might stick around longer west of the bay but agree that that column will roast quickly and a lot of that “snow” on those maps will be sleet/ice.
This has gone from decent front end to it will do frozen for a little bit

Say whut?
The 500 mb low slows down and deepens near Charlottesville. If it slows enough the front end snow could be a quick heavy 3 to 6 followed by 12 hours of rain.
-
Operational GFS is typical of warm-wet pattern. Front end 3-6hrs snow and then the system rides the Bay with everybody-to rain for all of the sub-forum.
"The Sync" isn't working for mid-lantic

Monday, GFS 500 Z is wild and white. Good patter, re-occurring toricity near us. Peiodic chilly white falls of 2 to 4. Stable reoccurring pattern.

I give this winter a B-/B for weeks of snow on lawns and multiple swowblower uses. A quick look of GFS snowpack
for the next 16 days is tawdry, accums being 100s of miles from here. No need to give up but assume 5% to 15% mayyy...be.
Time to plan for the start of hothouse seedlings.

My yard has been partially or fully snow covered for the better part of a month. Really OK.

A friend sent me this . Maryland is dead last in the country in In person learning. Only 8.4 % Just horrific. Thank goodness my 2 girls are in Carroll county and have been back hybrid for a while along with sports . Rest of Md needs to get there stuff together to say it politely. It's a darn shame. The rest of the world and majority of the country has found a way to adapt to covid but not Maryland.
Lil blurred but u get the idea . Dead freakin last
Staying away from anyone with COVID is JOB ONE. Maryland is smart for the most part.
