Just got a brand new roof put on this week, just in time for these dead trees to fall on it. Hope not, but this map makes me very anxious! These gusts during the height of the heavy snow Sunday 10AM on the 12k NAM - phew!

Yikes. This won't end well!SREF Plumes up to 8.5 for AVL https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/srefplumes/
Also, those gusts during the storm on 6z EURO aren't playing around. Going to be some power outages for sure.

Thanks neighbor! At the ripe old age of 41 it's difficult to stay up much later than that.Start around 9 or 10 for us

This is me lazily asking the board what the expected showtime is tomorrow? Possibly an early finger of moisture to give us a few flakes? Will we get to see flakes without staying up until the wee hours?

Hope it's awesome for all of you! You deserve it!By the way, we’re heading to Black Mountain. For many reasons:- Happy wife, happy life. =)
- Cousins with whom the kids can play in the snow.
- (Who am I kidding? I will also be playing in the snow.)
- Pretty much guaranteed snow for the duration of the event.
- 8-inch floor, according to the graphic posted above.
- Monumental snowstorm experience.

Boyer is adamant that "this is not like '93 folks!"
Evidently he's been getting lots of people asking that? I mean it's an impactful storm, but obviously not even close to '93.

Check me out, I don't even need a receipt! Hopefully this solution locks in, we're long overdue for a whopper.

Lake Toxaway is in a prime location for orographic enhancement on storms like these in my experience. If it stays all snow, my guess would be 18" safely.Would love to selfishly hear some of yalls guesses for lake toxaway? If we can find a war to stay mostly snow then it may get silly. This thread is awesome. Wish I lived up here with you Mountain folks.

Haha. I think it's time for him to jump in with both feet. There are going to be significant impacts for the majority of his viewing area and they need to prepare before Saturday rolls around. Right?Jason Boyer after seeing the 6z Euro. (I kid, I kid)

I haven't seen the models lock into agreement on a general solution for such a long lead up like this for ages.
It's a beaut, Clark. Brings a tear to my eye.

Yep on both sites...obviously highly populated with central nc folks. Last storm I never had a shot so I sat on the sideline and cheered on and admired the video and pics.
For nw sc and ne ga which are mountainous so hopefully I'm allowed to post with you fellas, I firmly believe and have seen the gradient before where we stayed mostly snow with a transition to sleet turning back to snow. The temp profiles look great early on and possibly could lock in if some precip moves in earlier than modeled.
You say both sites. What is the other site you're referring to?

I'll be making the trip to Lake Toxaway North Carolina this weekend for the upcoming storm. This will be our first trip to this area and it looks beautiful. Hope to give yall some good pictures.
I live about five miles west of Lake Toxaway. Beautiful is correct! You'll be in a great spot for the show!

With all this model consensus, looks like my winning lottery ticket arrives late this weekend. 24"+ IMBY. No work for several days.
I'll go ahead and cash in my chips, please.

Woke up to an HVAC on the fritz, boy I hope I can get a technician before these single digit temps and impassable roads occur!
Let's reel this big dog in, ladies and gentlemen!

Flizzard and occasional bursts of fatties here in Cashiers. Went from 46 at noon to 36.3 currently.

Here's the view from Cashiers. Not impressive at all but it's still pretty. Only got a short period of heavy snow before the precip shield moved east of us.
A friend in Highlands sent a picture, he's got about 3". Lucky ****!

Looks like it's slowing down here now. About 1/2" total just south of Cashiers. Radar looking paltry for us going forward. Power has flickered off and on a couple times just now.

Big flakes blowing around here in Southern Jackson, just a dusting on grassy and elevated surfaces so far. 32.2 and dropping.

GSP still hasn't put accumulation into my point forecast yet except for Saturday night. 4-8" through Sunday morning. I hope it's ripping fatties when I wake up Sunday!
