  1. Compared to "average", I'd give my final winter in NoVA a C. But, compared to what I've experienced the last 7 years, I'd say "B", because its been a relatively poor 7 years, with one NOTABLE exception in 2016.  Maybe my departure will bring better winters for y'all.

Record stays at 69.  Remains 9 calendar days with records <70.

Yeah, remember those 5-min obs are rounded to nearest Celsius degree from their actual Fahrenheit (so 69 became 20.6C which rounds to 21C which translates back to 70F).

maybe because the 28 years before 1993 had only 5 snowy winters and the 28 years since 1993 has 16 snowy winters...

Perhaps, but you don't often see 70 mph gusts in heavy snow at LaGuardia...

the first month I looked at was Feb 1894...it has 37.9" of snow but the snow depth doesn't add up and amounts are much higher than Central Park...Feb 1893 reported a storm of 17.8" on the 17th-18th and 32.0" for the month...snow depth was 10"...Central Park had 17.8" for the month...

Yeah the snowfall looks funky that month, like they made some estimates based on precip.

3.4" in Ewing. Certainly more than I expected before looking at yesterday's guidance. Here in NoVA we got 0.5", which is less than I expected before looking at yesterday's guidance. This is your winter, guys. We're getting ripped off repeatedly down here in DC.

0.28" melted out of the 3.4" snow.

    Get into Mount Holly.

You know I'd like to. But competition is fierce. And I'm a slacker, lets be honest. I could find some similarly nice spots if I was willing to drive farther every day (probably wouldn't be all that different of a commute length if I lived in the Sourlands and worked at Mt. Holly, since that's probably a good 40 minute drive at a good time of day).

I'll just say near Oxford Valley, I like my anonymity and won't pinpoint where I live. As for light-moderate-heavy snow and whiteout conditions, I think a portion of this board over estimates what they see. There was a pic earlier that claimed whiteout, but with all due respect it wasn't whiteout. Heavy snow is visibility under 3/4 of a mile and I don't think Lower Bucks reached that criteria.

1/4 but I'm guessing you had a typo there.
